Oleksandr,
I have packaged the 2.5 release and polished up the packaging. Code is
available via
git clone git://git.debian.org/users/tweber/lcms2.git
The git repository is in git-buildpackage layout, so you are probably
best off cloning via gbp:
gbp clone git://git.debian.org/users/tweber/lcms2.git
Unless you object, I intend to upload this package to experimental in
a few days. I would also move my git repository to collab-maint.

I do NOT intend to take over maintenance of the packaging, but there are
too many dependencies which would benefit from a new release to wait
several months more with this.

Thanks
Thomas

For going to do this work but liblcms2 is really a shame about ABI/API
compatibilty. See:

http://upstream-tracker.org/versions/lcms.html

So be prepared to ask for a so dump.

Thanks for raising attention to this.

@Oleksandr: Please strongly consider using a symbols file to a) fail
when symbols are removed and b) have consumers of this library (like
ghostscript and krita) automagically handle symbols added.

...instead of leaving it to downstream FTBFS to reveal breakage really
belonging in liblcms.

  - Jonas

Hi Jonas,

I'll definitely add a symbols file before the next upload of 2.5. Thanks
a lot for exploring the compatibility issues.

Sounds good.

Thanks for sharing your progress on this. Much appreciated.

I can recommend you to consider releasing your current work to
experimental, as that allows making progress on the ghostscript package
in _parallel_ to your refinement work.
