Bug#727102: wmbattery doesn't report battery status (3.2.0 kernel)

2013-12-16 Thread Tovar
Package: wmbattery
Version: 2.42
Followup-For: Bug #727102

'wmbattery' now starts up with correct status, but never updates. For
example, no longers notices if the external power supply is unplugged
nor does it offer any time estimates.

This may not be specific to Linux 3.2.0, as it functions properly under
'Wheezy' (Stable) with Linux 3.2.51-rt72 (built locally). It may not
be specific to 'wmbattery', as the screen also no longer dims when the
external power supply is unplugged.

This is a MacBook Pro (Apple ID: MacBookPro7,1). Let me know if you
would like additional information and/or testing.

Bug#727102: wmbattery doesn't report battery status (3.2.0 kernel)

2013-10-22 Thread Karsten M. Self
Package: wmbattery
Version: 2.41
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Following a system update and windowmanager (WindowMaker) restart,
wmbattery would launch but reports no charge in the bell, '00:00'
battery life, and 0% charge status.

APM doesn't appear to be supported by my kernel. 'acpi -b' _does_
report battery status, e.g.:

$ acpi -b
Battery 0: Unknown, 95%

Providing the '-b 0' option to wmbattery results in a segfault. '-b 1'
reports as indicated above.
