2015-10-20 Thread Ilias Tsitsimpis
Hi Walter,

Could you please check whether this bug is still present in the newer
version of dmenu (dmenu-4.6 on suckless-tools version 41-1)?

Thanks,
Ilias

Heh I don't know how I miss all bug mails! Anyway this looks like
similar issue I reported long back [1], at the moment I probably can't
do anything IIRC its mainly because of Xlib not supporting the locale.

@Walter sorry for delay in getting back but as you mentioned it looks
like problem in Xlib, I would suggest talking with suckless people
first on this.

Perhaps, but crashing is quite different from displaying funny chars.

I tested this now but can't reproduce it!.

Not sure if to tag upstream or not because I'm unable to reproduce
crash! no locale support is known to happen have seen it before but not
sure what causes it.

Bug#737063: suckless-tools: dmenu crashes on LANG=eo.UTF-8

2014-01-29 Thread Walter Huf
Package: suckless-tools
Version: 40-1
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

Dear Maintainer,

I have my desktop configured to use Esperanto, specifically LANG=eo.UTF-8 by
dpkg-reconfigure locales.
Running dmenu by itself shows no locale support, then waits for stdin to
close. Closing stdin shows the segfault error.
Setting LANG=eo_XX.UTF-8, or clearing the variable, just shows no locale
support but does not crash. Setting it to another installed locale,
en_US.UTF-8, does not show no locale supported and also does not crash.

I think this may be an error with Xlib, I've seen other Xlib programs have
issues with this locale. Please redirect this report if it belongs somewhere
more specific.

Thank you very kindly!
