Reporting the Debian package version in the version report is useful, but I didn't like that it was bundled to the reproducible patch and how it was implemented. So the quick solution was to just remove that part from the patch. I have nothing against adding it back as separate patch. I would prefer an implementation that is upstreamable. So the vendor and package version should be injected via setup parameter (e.g. ./setu p.py --vendor Debian --package-version 2015.8.1+ds-1). Then other distributions could reuse it. > > I want to run "wrap-and-sort" and add a ".patch" suffix to all > > patches. > > Any objections to that? > > > > > Sounds good - I was never aware of the wrap and sort tool. Hi Joe, I pushed the current state. May you review these changes? I want to run "wrap-and-sort" and add a ".patch" suffix to all patches. Any objections to that? -- Benjamin Drung System Developer Debian & Ubuntu Developer ProfitBricks GmbH Greifswalder Str. 207 D - 10405 Berlin Email: benjamin.dr...@profitbricks.com URL: http://www.profitbricks.com Sitz der Gesellschaft: Berlin. I'm not sure on the logistics of this - in theory there is the debian salt team, but that has been very quiet for a long time. What would we have to do to add you as co-maintainer or similar? Thanks, Joe

The salt git repository belongs to the pkg-salt Alioth group. I requested to join the group and someone accepted me. So I have commit access now and can push the changes that I have so far. > What would we have to do to add you as co-maintainer or similar? After having commit access, the only remaining thing is to add me to the uploaders list in debian/control (which I could do myself). Anything special that I should be aware of regarding this package? There were no progress recently. So I decided to go ahead and prepare an update to 2015.8.1. This includes adding a salt-proxy package, requiring python-crypto >= 2.6 and dropping python-m2crypto (not needed any more by recent python-crypto library usage). Bug#801289: [Pkg-salt-team] Bug#801289: salt: New upstream release 2015.8.0
Hi Ben, I don't currently have access to an unstable machine - part way through renovating and also suffering from a hardware failure. I expect to get access the week after next, but until then, I will be fairly limited. Are you able to help? Thanks, Joe
