Bug#803016: libxml2: Upgrade fails with "triggers ci file contains unknown directive `activate-noawait'"
The -14 package fixed this bug on my i386 system.

I've got the same problem on one machine, while on two others it installed without problems. "apt-get -f install" and "dpkg --configure -a" does not report any problem, but upgrading the package fails: Preparing to replace libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze12 (using .../libxml2_2.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze13_i386.deb) ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libxml2_2.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze13_i386.deb (--unpack): triggers ci file contains unknown directive `activate-noawait' configured to not write apport reports Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libxml2_2.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze13_i386.deb ii dpkg 1.15.12 Debian package management system ii libc6 2.11.3-4+deb6u7 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Martin Fiala

for me, amd64-Packages work fine, i386-Packages not. i386-Packages have a trigger-file in /DEBIAN, containing the trigger "activate-noawait ldconfig", amd64-packages miss this file. dpkg is of version 1.15.12 (i386), which seems to miss support for this kind of trigger. My Workaround: I unpacked the package, commented the trigger out, repacked the package and was able to install it. Afterwards I ran ldconfig manually, just to be safe. Michael Abmayer

This sounds like i386 packages were not built in a clean squeeze or squeeze-lts chroot – dpkg in squeeze did not support the -noawait triggers. But there’s a -14 package that probably fixes this bug. bye, //mirabilos -- tarent solutions GmbH Rochusstraße 2-4, D-53123 Bonn • http://www.tarent.de/ Tel: +49 228 54881-393 • Fax: +49 228 54881-235 HRB 5168 (AG Bonn) • USt-ID (VAT): DE122264941 Geschäftsführer: Dr. Stefan Barth, Kai Ebenrett, Boris Esser, Alexander Steeg
