These are only included for build deps on Py2 packages, not run time deps.

If no Py3 support can be written by time of the freeze, such tests can
still happen from a Buster or unstable chroot.

I have so far not succeeded in converting to Python3.

I dare lower severity of this bug to important, however, since the
purpose of this package is only for testing other packages, not general
consumption (aligning with similar distinction in package
debian-security-support as of today).

Dropping this package causes less testing of package Radicale.

Seems a usertag is unacceptable: popcon of its reverse dependency
radicale is below the required 300 :-(

I am now working on migrating the code to Python3...

This bug does not seem to be fixed. There is still a dependency on python2.
Reopening.

I am sorry I failed to annouce it on a list where the people interested
in looking after caldav-tester were present. I am very happy you decide
to take a look at reviving this package. I hope you succeed in porting
it to python 3 and getting feedback from upstream.

I am surprised by the above remark, and the consequential removal
request by Moritz Mühlenhoff.

The only notification I am aware of is this¹:

I failed to read above as a request for adoption at the time, and still
do.

Please formally orphan or file an RFA to most reliably communicate such
intent.

I assume that the package is now up for adoption, and will act
accordingly - hopefully I did not get here too late and the package gets
kicked out before I can finish my examination.

It seems abandoned by Apple, there are no material commits after 2016:
https://github.com/apple/ccs-caldavtester/commits/master

More importantly the underlying Python lib is similarly stalled:
https://github.com/apple/ccs-pycalendar/issues/1

The caldav-tester program is useful to test any caldav implementation,
not only calendarserver. I introduced it into the archive to test the
other implementations.

I lack the capacity to port it to python 3 myself, but hope upstream
have done so already or will do it in time. I have not had capacity to
track upstream developers either, so I do not know if this already
happened. :(

Hi,
caldav-tester is related to calendarserver, which was removed three
months ago. Is caldav-tester by itself still useful (and if so, are
you planning to port it to Python 3), or should it be removed as well?

Cheers,
Moritz
