Bug#423465: gcompris doesn't run, until package libsdl-mixer1.2 is installed

I think that the maintainer accidentially killed the dh_shlibdeps call
in debian/rules while getting rid of the libgcompris packages. Simply
adding it back to binary-arch will generate the dependancies.

Also, it's not listed as orphaned in the PTS.

AFAIK this can be handled by a binary NMU, thus Cc:ing Steve, and
closing the bug.

Steve, can you schedule a binNMU of smc on i386? I checked that smc's
dependency on smc-data is versioned with = ${source:Version}, so this
should work.

I tryed to do some debugging by putting some printf in from_local.c
   I could see the :
   for (ifr = ifc.ifc_req; ifr  the_end; ifr++)
is executed 16 times (even if only 3 interfaces are up).
program flow never gets in :
   if (ifr-ifr_addr.sa_family == AF_INET)
I even tryed to put an AF_INET6 branch to see if IPv6 was messing up
portmap, but i never get into that branch either.

If I put an if(1) in place of
   if (ifr-ifr_addr.sa_family == AF_INET)
   and I add this printf:
   printf(Loop : %d Interface : %d Address :
 %s\n,count_loop++,ifr-ifr_addr.sa_family,inet_ntoa(((struct sockaddr_in *)
ifreq.ifr_addr)-sin_addr));
just below that if, this is the output i get:

Bug#423502: libcegui-mk2-0c2a: soname change without package name bump

2007-05-12 Thread Darren Salt
Package: libcegui-mk2-0c2a
Version: 0.5.0-1
Severity: serious

I just downloaded and installed smc from unstable. On trying to run it, I got
the following error:

smc: error while loading shared libraries: libCEGUIBase.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

Since testing is preferred here, the dependency was satisfied from testing -
and the version in testing contains libCEGUIBase.so.0.

Therefore, the package needs to be renamed to libcegui-mk2-1; AFAICS, smc and
ogre will need to be rebuilt as a result.

Bug#422700: aptitude: Can't lock list directory, after manual removal of lockfiles

I have since rebooted the system, though I'm fairly sure there weren't
any other apt or dpkg processes running when I had my problem.

Unfortunately, I needed to install some packages as a matter of some
urgency, so ran apt-get dist-upgrade which seems to have fixed the
problem with aptitude. However, it means it may be difficult to track
down this particular bug!

Bug#423184: openoffice.org: Segfaults on startup

2007-05-12 Thread Linas Žvirblis
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Me again.

It seems that in my case this is a different bug (according to strace).
It is fglrx fault after all. I tried various X.org configurations, tried
downgrading and upgrading various packages, tested with various versions
of OpenOffice.org, and the only thing that helped, was using free
drivers instead of proprietary ones.

If I did manage to start OpenOffice.org (which seemed to be totally
random), it usually resulted in X.org crash, or kernel oops. According
to google, some Ubuntu users are also affected by this.

The weird thing is that fglrx drivers worked before, but I could not
determine what upgrade caused the failure, and, quite frankly, I killed
enough brain cells not to care anymore. No more fglrx for me.

I am attaching some information I gathered running 2.2.0-7, and fglrx,
in case you are interested.

As I have already mentioned, this most probably is a different bug
(coincidence?), so I cannot confirm the crash reported by Jean-Matthieu.

Bug#423522: libgtk-jni: Missing Depends.

2007-05-12 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Package: libgtk-jni
Version: 2.10.2-3
Severity: serious

The gtk2-java.pc file says:
Requires: glib-java cairo-java gtk+-2.0

So you need a Depends on:
- libglib-jni
- libcairo-jni (Pulled in thru libcairo2)
- libgtk2.0-dev

And you don't depend on libgtk2.0-dev in any way.

When running ldd /usr/lib/jni/libgtkjni-2.10.so
I get:
libglibjni-0.4.so = not found

It looks like that was in libglib-java but moved to libglib-jni and
ldd doesn't find it because you don't have an rpath. (Not sure if this
is needed, or that LD_LIBRARY_PATH gets set.)

Icedove gets freezed when using Enigmail extension loading a mail
signed/encrypted
It says in the button Loading... and I've to kill gpg from a
terminal to stop Icedove getting freezed.

I don't certainly know if the problem comes from Enigmail itself, or
from gpg when trying to load from the signs db.

Please, mailme for more information.

Hi Jeremy,

The bugs about thoose license issues have been quiet for a very long
time (since November 2005). If the situation has evolved, and you expect
a change soon, it could be a good idea to document that in the bug logs.

I am running 2 instances of collectd (through two config files in

/etc/init.d/collect stop only stops one of them.

Hmm... I cannot reproduce this. It works fine on all machines I'm running
collectd on. Please note that it might take some time (a couple of seconds)
for collectd to shut down cleanly. Could you please verify this?

Cheers,

I have since rebooted the system, though I'm fairly sure there weren't
any other apt or dpkg processes running when I had my problem.

Unfortunately, I needed to install some packages as a matter of some
urgency, so ran apt-get dist-upgrade which seems to have fixed the
problem with aptitude. However, it means it may be difficult to track
 down this particular bug!

OK, it looks like the problem may be that aptitude complains about not
being able to lock a file whenever a fatal error occurs (even a
non-lock-related one) before it tries to acquire the lock. I can fix
that pretty easily by aborting the install before I try to grab the
lock.

The underlying issue in your case was that apt error. It's generated in
acquire-item.cc and appears to indicate that apt can't find anything to
download for the package. The fix is probably to update the package
cache, as you discovered.

  Daniel

Bug#423552: exaile_0.2.9+debian-3: FTBFS: wrong build-dependency

2007-05-12 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: exaile
Version: 0.2.9+debian-3
Severity: serious

The exaile package is failing to build from source on alpha (and will likely
show the same failure on other architectures on rebuild) because it
build-depends on python-dev but expects header files to be available for all
installed versions of python:

[...]
cc -fPIC -O2 `pkg-config --cflags gtk+-2.0 pygtk-2.0` -I/usr/include/python2.5
 -c -o mmkeyspy.o mmkeyspy.c
mmkeyspy.c:3:20: error: Python.h: No such file or directory
[...]

A full build log can be found at
http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=exailearch=alphaver=0.2.9%2Bdebian-3stamp=1178740281.

If you are going to build against all supported versions of python, you need
to build-depend on python-all-dev, not on python-dev; python-dev only
provides headers for the current default python.

Hi,

It your package is failing to build with the following error:
 dpkg-genchanges -B -mDebian amd64 Build Daemon buildd_i386-excelsior
dpkg-genchanges: arch-specific upload - not including arch-independent packages
dpkg-genchanges: failure: cannot read files list file: No such file or directory

This is probably caused because you don't do anything in the binary-arch
target.

Looks like update alternatives is not yet correct. Note that I was
upgrading from a previously good version of dpkg to the latest fixed
 version.

As Adam already said this has been filed several times already. And
this is not serious, the code is the same, but not it's just producing
warnings. It will be fixed on next upload.

Hi,

The libgdal1.4.0.la file contains:
dependency_libs=' -L/usr/lib /usr/lib/libgeos_c.la /usr/lib/libgeos.la
/usr/lib/libodbc.la /usr/lib/libodbcinst.la /usr/lib/libltdl.la -lxerces-c
/usr/lib/libjasper.la /usr/lib/libhdf5.la -lmfhdf -ldf -logdi -lgif
/usr/lib/libtiff.la /usr/lib/libjpeg.la -lpng -lnetcdf -lpq -lrt
/usr/lib/libsqlite3.la /usr/lib/libcurl.la /usr/lib/libidn.la -ldl
-L/usr/lib/mysql /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.la -lpthread
-lcrypt -lnsl -lz'

You'll need a Depends for each of those .la files in it, which gives:
- libgeos-dev
- unixodbc-dev
- libltdl3-dev
- libjasper-dev
- libhdf5-serial-dev
- libtiff4-dev
- libjpeg62-dev
- libsqlite3-dev
- libcurl-dev
- libidn11
- libmysqlclient15-dev

missing:
- libltdl3-dev
- libcurl-dev
- libsqlite3-dev (You have libsqlite0-dev)

Not a surprise, the newer libsylpheed-claws-gtk2-dev package provided
by claws-mail package is a transitional one which only pulls
libclaws-mail-dev, not valid for building old sylpheed-claws-gtk2 plugins.

The newer claws-mail-extra-plugins (which will replace this one) is in the
oven and will be uploaded soon (right after claws 2.9.2), be patient, it will
have to pass new processing.
