Your message dated Fri, 21 Aug 2015 18:00:32 + with message-id e1zsqcc-0006tq...@franck.debian.org and subject line Bug#791201: fixed in mercator 0.3.2-2 has caused the Debian Bug report #791201, regarding mercator: library transition may be needed when GCC 5 is the default to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 791201: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=791201 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems ---BeginMessage--- Package: src:mercator Version: 0.3.2-1.1 Severity: important Tags: sid stretch User: debian-...@lists.debian.org Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11 Background [1]: libstdc++6 introduces a new ABI to conform to the C++11 standard, but keeps the old ABI to not break existing binaries. Packages which are built with g++-5 from experimental (not the one from testing/unstable) are using the new ABI. Libraries built from this source package export some of the new __cxx11 or B5cxx11 symbols, and dropping other symbols. If these symbols are part of the API of the library, then this rebuild with g++-5 will trigger a transition for the library. What is needed: - Rebuild the library using g++/g++-5 from experimental. Note that most likely all C++ libraries within the build dependencies need a rebuild too. You can find the log for a rebuild in https://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc5-20150701/ Search for BEGIN GCC CXX11 in the log. - Decide if the symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 are part of the library API, and are used by the reverse dependencies of the library. - If there are no symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 in the symbols forming the library API, you should close this issue with a short explanation. - If there are no reverse dependencies, it should be the package maintainers decision if a transition is needed. However this might break software which is not in the Debian archive, and built against these packages. - If a library transition is needed, please prepare for the change. Rename the library package, append v5 to the name of the package (e.g. libfoo2 - libfoo2v5). Such a change can be avoided, if you have a soversion bump and you upload this version instead of the renamed package. Prepare a patch and attach it to this issue (mark this issue with patch), so that it is possible to NMU such a package. We'll probably have more than hundred transitions triggered. Then reassign the issue to release.debian.org and properly tag it as a transition issue, by sending an email to cont...@bugs.debian.org: user release.debian@packages.debian.org usertag this issue + transition block this issue by 790756 reassign this issue release.debian.org - If unsure if a transition is needed, please tag the issue with help to ask for feedback from other Debian developers. The libstdc++6 transition will be a large one, and it will come with a lot of pain. Please help it by preparing the follow-up transitions. Bug#795851: openjfx: FTBFS with Gradle 2.5
I have pushed two commits. The first one implements the minimum requirements to compile openjfx with gradle 2.5. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to compile with WEBKIT yet. When I set COMPILE_WEBKIT = false in debian/gradle.properties, building from source works again. The question is: Can we temporarily disable the WEBKIT feature and build without it for a while until upstream catches up with gradle? (They already have a patch for 2.x but that doesn't seem to work with WEBKIT) Regards, Markus signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Bug#796471: kmod should check for breakage on new kernels
Package: kmod Version: 21-1 Severity: grave Tags: upstream Justification: renders package unusable when new kernels come out sometimes there is kmod breakage. There is no known reason for this as headers are installed during the updating process. Errors like these are commonly encountered: Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 4.1.0-1-amd64 (x86_64) Consult /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/15.7/build/make.log for more information. It is these types of errors that break video drivers(nVidia and ATI) and apps like VirtualBox when there is no need for the breakage and incompatibility.People should not be forced into a new app version or video driver version on each and every kernel update.Besides this is too much work for the manufacturer. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.0.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages kmod depends on: ii libc6 2.19-19 ii libkmod2 21-1 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 kmod recommends no packages. kmod suggests no packages. -- no debconf information DKMS make.log for fglrx-15.7 for kernel 4.1.0-1-amd64 (x86_64) Fri Aug 21 17:37:33 CDT 2015 make: Entering directory '/usr/src/linux-headers-4.1.0-1-amd64' LD /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/15.7/build/built-in.o CC [M] /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/15.7/build/firegl_public.o /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/15.7/build/firegl_public.c: In function ‘KCL_InstallInterruptHandler’: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/15.7/build/firegl_public.c:3504:22: error: ‘IRQF_DISABLED’ undeclared (first use in this function) ((useMSI) ? I'm also going to request the removal of gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, since it is the last reverse-dependency of src:libpostproc and I want to request it's removal. I hope you don't mind. Please go ahead, I didn't request removal of that one yet because I wanted to have all GStreamer 0.10 packages go away together but it doesn't really matter. Thanks! I think gstreamer-hplugins can also be removed, because landell is it's only reverse-dependency. But I have no immediate interest in it's removal, so I leave that to someone else. Please request removal of that one while you're at it, there's no point in keeping that if landell is removed. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Bug#796120: texlive-xetex: fails to create document that worked previously: xdvipdfmx:fatal: Parsing charstring failed: (status=-1, stack=0)
Hi Lucas, Anyway, I will investigate, maybe it is just a temporary incompatibility between fontspec and latex3. I will try to package up the latest TL checkout and see if that fixes the problem. I have done that now. With a new checkout from TL I can compile the document on sid, so this instance of the bug seems to be an incompatibility with between fontspec and l3. Do you need a new upload immediately or can you wait 2 weeks? I normally do new uploads every month. The fonts are still messed up, though. The (annoyingly ever displayed) extra tab explains very well what should be done, but I don’t get the Automatic Save Folder menu under the “What should Firefox do with this file?” box. Am I missing something? There are similar complaints on the amo review page [1], so maybe it’s “just” an incompatibility with recent iceweasel versions. Since upstream maintenance ended [2], I’m not sure there is much to do to fix the issue. 1: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/automatic-save-folder/reviews/ 2: http://asf.mangaheart.org/?menu=5f=1t=167 I even tried to fetch the latest version from the upstream VCS to see if it works but didn’t get any further. Maybe the em:maxVersion29.* from install.rdf is to take seriously. Please, do follow up if the extension works for you. Unless someone objects, I’ll request a removal of this package in a few months (or sooner depending on the feedback). Bug#791016: ctpp2: ftbfs, and library transition is needed when GCC 5 is the default
On Sun, 16 Aug 2015 at 12:46:21 +0530, Vasudev Kamath wrote: So I will wait for some one to upload the package for me. Changes are already on collab-maint repo. I had a look at it, and saw this: Drop jquery.js from ctpp2-doc and depend on libjquery-js. If the documentation is generated by Doxygen, which it appears to be, then replacing jquery.js as Lintian advises is actually wrong. Doxygen ships a jquery.js which is actually the concatenation of several JavaScript libraries, *including* jQuery (but jQuery is not the only one); so replacing it with a file containing only jQuery will break the documentation. Please see https://bugs.debian.org/736360 for details. The rest of the changes look reasonable, although I haven't built it. S

This blocks at least one other transition (libmediainfo). Regards, S
