Bug#919742: orthanc-wsi FTBFS 'class GlobalDcmDataDictionary' has no member named 'unlock'

2019-01-25 Thread peter green

tags 919742 +patch
thanks

Since this seemed to be the last thing blocking the dcmtk transition in
raspbian buster I decided to take a look.

It seems that orthanc-wsi has an embedded copy of an old version orthanc, it
also build-depends on orthanc-dev,
I am not sure if the system orthanc is unused or if the embedded copy is used
for some things and the system
copy for others.

The patches needed are the same as were needed for orthanc as documented in
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=919193#10

The tricky bit was actually applying them, the embedded copy of orthanc is
shipped as a tarball which
is copied to locations where the upstream build system detects and unpacks it.

I modified debian/rules to unpack, patch and repack the tarball before copying
it to where the
upstream build system expected it. Unfortunately the upstream build system then
rejected
it with a md5 mismatch, so I patched the upstream build system to remove the
md5 check
and to remove automatic downloading of the tarball (for safety since there was
no longer any
validation of it).

While I was doing this I ran into a situation where the clean target was not
cleaning up sufficiently
so I fixed that too.

With these changes I was able to get a succesful build in raspbian
buster-staging, a debdiff
can be found at
https://debdiffs.raspbian.org/main/o/orthanc-wsi/orthanc-wsi_0.5-2+rpi1.debdiff

No intent to NMU in Debian.

I tried to build gwave 20190116, but I got this error on during
configure phase:

configure: checking for guile 2.2

configure: error: 'guild' binary not found; please check your guile-2.x
installation.

although guile-2.2-dev does have /usr/bin/guild !

anyways I have pushed my work to salsa:

Bug#920476: security issue: DoS due to changing # of allowed users in root channel

2019-01-25 Thread Chris Knadle
Package: mumble
Version: 1.3.0~git20190114.9fcc588+dfsg-1
Severity: serious
Tags: security fixed-upstream pending

A vulnerability has been discovered whereby a remote unauthenticated user
connected to the server can send a crafted packet to change the number of
allowed users in the root channel to 0, thereby disallowing users to connect to
the server and causing a Denial of Service. All version of mumble-server prior
to the fix in Mumble issue #3586 on 2019-01-25 are affected.

   https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble/issues/3585

A new upload of mumble is being prepared to fix this issue.

Hi mips porters,

we have a test failure of libdbd-sqlite3-perl on mips only: #919773
and neither the perl team nor upstream [0] were successful so far.
Maybe someone with mips knowdledge could take a look?

Bug#920467: ngraph-gtk: fails at runtime on 32-bit archs

2019-01-25 Thread Steve Langasek
Source: ngraph-gtk
Version: 6.08.00-1
Severity: serious
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu disco

Dear maintainers,

Since the upgrade to 6.08.00, ngraph-gtk has been failing its autopkgtests
in Ubuntu on 32-bit architectures (i386 and armhf):

[...]

autopkgtest [00:39:34]: test run-test: [---

This hasn't been reported on the Debian infrastructure because Debian only
regularly runs autopkgtests for the amd64 architecture; however, I can
confirm that the autopkgtests fail the same way if run against the Debian
binaries. It appears to me that this means the ngraph-gtk package is broken
at runtime on these architectures, so I'm filing this bug at severity
serious.

It should. If not, I am here to help/fix/improve.

Still, I am surprised, that adding /var/lib/supervise did not help to
you. I will apply patch to `debian-sid' branch and take a closer look at

Bug#920366: developers-reference: ftbfs in sid, builds fine in stable

2019-01-25 Thread Norbert Preining
Hi everyone,

it seems there are two issues here:
1- ftbfs logidee-tools
2- ftbfs developers-reference

ad 1-
FIrst of all, I cannot reproduce this error on sid, so with all packages
properly upgraded.

That means, I assume you have a mixed upgrade of packages where it
fails, is this correct?

If yes, then I just need to force the same version of packages to fix
it.

ad 2-
There was a regression in fontspec that was fixed 2 days ago. I will
upload new packages ASAP.

*

I will upload new packages that include the fontspec fixes, as well as
tighter package coupling. This will fix 2- and most probably also 1-,
but I still hope that I get feedback from logidee-tools maintainers.

Thanks

Norbert

Bug#919831: Javadoc -link makes broken links if module name matches package name

2019-01-25 Thread Ole Streicher
Hi Matthias,

on a number of packages, javadoc now fails, which is reported by a
number of bugs. Since you mentioned that this is not a bug in the JDK,
could you give a hint what the problem is? The error message is a bit
mystic, at least to me. And the openjdk commit also does not enlighten me.

It a bug in the individual packages or one in javahelper? And what
should be done to fix it?

Best

Ole

Dear FTP team,

could you please remove golang-1.10 from unstable? The version 1.11
should be shipped as default with buster, and golang-1.10 has already
been removed for that reason from testing.

Tobias

I had python3-attr 16.3.0-1 installed. If I upgrade it to
17.4.0-2~bpo9+1, the problem goes away.

I'm filing this against 17.4.0-2 since I think it applies to all
versions, including the version in testing.

Bug#919763: adios: armhf FTBFS when built on arm64

2019-01-25 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: adios
Followup-For: Bug #919763
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu disco ubuntu-patch

Hi Alastair,

I'm reopening this bug report because I see that you have closed it by
disabling the testsuite.

This is a wrong fix for the issue given that the tests are correctly
identifying CPU incompatibility in the code. This only results in willingly
shipping binaries that will not work on more recent ARM CPUs (and even older
CPUs, when using a kernel in a particular mode).

If you as maintainer don't want to support adios across the range of CPUs
that the Debian armhf port is expected to work on, then it would be better
to remove the adios binaries for this architecture instead.

(And btw, this issue would also affect sparc64 as an architecture, not only
armhf, due to similar alignment constraints.)

However, I've just prepared a patch that fixes the unaligned access problems
in adios's code. Would you consider applying this as a solution instead?

It could stand to be improved - in particular, for cases where we are
byteswapping, the code currently writes the variable twice where this could
be optimized to be a single write. But I presume the byteswap case is only
of interest on big-endian architectures, so not of great concern on modern
targets.

Thanks for considering,

+Description: use alignment-safe buffer handling.
+ Currently we are using assignment to copy the contents of a variable of

Bug#920456: i2p: modifies conffiles (policy 10.7.3): /etc/i2p/wrapper.config

2019-01-25 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: i2p
Version: 0.9.38-1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package modifies conffiles.
This is forbidden by the policy, see
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#configuration-files

10.7.3: "[...] The easy way to achieve this behavior is to make the
configuration file a conffile. [...] This implies that the default
version will be part of the package distribution, and must not be
modified by the maintainer scripts during installation (or at any
other time)."

Note that once a package ships a modified version of that conffile,
dpkg will prompt the user for an action how to handle the upgrade of
this modified conffile (that was not modified by the user).

Further in 10.7.3: "[...] must not ask unnecessary questions
(particularly during upgrades) [...]"

If a configuration file is customized by a maintainer script after
having asked some debconf questions, it may not be marked as a
conffile. Instead a template could be installed in /usr/share and used
by the postinst script to fill in the custom values and create (or
update) the configuration file (preserving any user modifications!).
This file must be removed during postrm purge.
ucf(1) may help with these tasks.
See also https://wiki.debian.org/DpkgConffileHandling

In https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2012/09/msg00412.html and
followups it has been agreed that these bugs are to be filed with
severity serious.

debsums reports modification of the following files,
from the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  /etc/i2p/wrapper.config

cheers,

Andreas

That logfile predates the bug report.
I can still reproduce it in my piuparts instance.

Hello,

Javascript is an asynchronous language, so many tests are timeout based,
but deb machines are so slow that we have to patch many packages to
increase delays...

Cheers,
Xavier

thanks, that brought me on the right track:

- I booted a buster VM, installed all of developers-reference
  build-depends from buster
- then I successfully build developers-reference 3.4.21
- then I upgraded only texlive-base to the version from sid (2018.20190122-1)
  and dev-ref still build fine...
- same with texlive...
- same with texlive-latex-base
- same with texlive-xetex
- same with texlive-latex-extra
- same with texlive-extra-utils
- finally, after installing texlive-latex-recommended (2018.20190122-1)
  the build failed.
- then I booted another fresh buster VM, installed all of
developers-reference build-depends from buster again and upgraded only
texlive-latex-recommended to the sid version, and voila, *boom*,
developers-reference FTBFS. (with the very same output as submitted to
  this bug report.)

Then I went to tracker.debian.org, saw two debci regressions and indeed
https://ci.debian.net/data/autopkgtest/testing/amd64/l/logidee-tools/1779974/log.gz
(attached) shows the very same symptoms as we are seeing with def-ref:

Paragraph ended before \ProvidesPackageRCS@i was complete.

Thus, reassigning etc accordingly.

Bug#888130: set severity to normal as 2.9.4-2 skips this test

2019-01-25 Thread Cédric Boutillier
Control: tag -1 -ftbfs
Control: severity -1 normal
Control: tag -1 experimental

Hi,

This bug does not affect experimental, as the 3.x branch removed this
test (and the corresponding code).
The reuse functionality has been reported upstream to cause problems in
some situations in the 2.x branch. I am therefore skipping the
corresponding test in 2.9.4-2, and decrease the severity to normal for
now, since the possible problem does not affect the building process.

Cheers,

Cédric

Actually we wanted to get rid of OpenJDK 8 in Buster. It is still
officially supported upstream, at least until 2020, maybe even longer.
However security support for two runtimes is time consuming and there is
no appetite from the security team for that. However I think they can be
persuaded to accept that OpenJDK 8 is only used at build time as long as
the applications work with OpenJDK 11 at runtime. You could also declare
certain packages as unsupported at runtime because they are only used
for development purposes.

That seems to be a reasonable choice. Right now Android apps are simply not
supposed to use Java 9+.

But for how long will JDK8 be supported in Debian? I don't want this package be
a burden of any future transition.

Bug#891957: netbeans no starting "loading module" modules.netbinox NullPointerException

2019-01-25 Thread Markus Koschany
Control: reassign -1 libequinox-osgi-java
Control: found -1 3.9.1-1

This issue is actually caused by missing files in libequionx-osgi-java.
The sources from Maven did neither contain the *.profile nor .properties
files which caused a NullPointerException in Netbeans and made the
program unusable. I have added those files now which will resolve this bug.

If nobody complains, I'll file a RoM removal bug soon.

So lets keep it out of Buster for now.

I believe the only chance to save this package in time for Buster is to
use OpenJDK 8. I don't think you can fix the build failure without using
a higher sourceCompatibility level.

Bug#896070: gitlint FTBFS: FAIL: test_target

2019-01-25 Thread Nicholas Brown
This issues is raised upstream as
https://github.com/jorisroovers/gitlint/issues/78
and looks like it might be fixed in more recent versions.
It would good to update gitlint to 0.10.0 from the current 0.9.0 and see if
this fixes the issue, and then migrate from Debian Unstable to Testing.

Hi,

nethack-el fails to start when using nethack-lisp 3.6.1. There's a
strong chance this is caused by nethack itself, but I haven't
investigated it much.

I'm filing this bug now because I have been thinking about removing the
lisp port anyway and this is the only package which uses it. As far as I
can see, the port has been dead for almost 12 years upstream, hasn't
really been tested with nethack 3.6, and makes up a large bulk of the
Debian patch set which takes ages to rebase on every upstream update. If
someone wants to help keep it going then patches are welcome, but I'm
not particularly interested in keeping it.

Thanks,
James

Bug#920423: sogo: Exception thrown on "rich" email view after 4.0.5 upgrade (from 3.2.6)

2019-01-25 Thread Matthew Hall
Package: sogo
Version: 4.0.5-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I’ve just upgraded (and due to reasons entirely my fault, I’ve realised I have
no downgrade path… backup fail) from 3.2.6 (I believe it was) to 4.0.5.

It’s a Debian box, using the “official Debian sogo packages” - I’m now running
on Debian Buster (due for release later this year).

Everything is working a charm - upgrading the database appears to have worked
perfectly - all except the “/view” URL used by the AJAX UI for retrieving a
“rich” email from a folder...
(So by extension, I simply cannot view emails in the SOGo webmail client.)

Works using “viewsource” (as in, the SOGo 'viewsource' button works - which
makes sense because I can see the IMAP debug is working properly on the
backend), and the headers download properly etc. I’m seeing an exception
thrown in the logs:

Jan 24 22:41:11 sogod [2864]: <0x0x560efac4c220[NGImap4Client]> TLS started
successfully.
Jan 24 22:41:11 sogod [2864]: 10.0.90.34, 10.0.20.10, 10.0.20.11 "GET
/SOGo/so/matthewhall/Mail/0/folderINBOX/64252/viewsource HTTP/1.1" 200 1584/0
0.549 4041 60% 0
(worked)

Jan 24 22:41:11 sogod [2864]: <0x0x560efac4cae0[NGImap4Client]> TLS started
successfully.
2019-01-24 22:41:12.503 sogod[2864:2864] EXCEPTION: NAME:NSInvalidArgumentException
REASON:[NSString+stringWithString:]: NULL string INFO:(null)
Jan 24 22:41:12 sogod [2864]: 10.0.90.34, 10.0.20.10, 10.0.20.11 "GET
/SOGo/so/matthewhall/Mail/0/folderINBOX/64252/view HTTP/1.1" 501 0/0 0.550 - - 0
(failed)

(Note it’s a “GET” request and not a “POST” because I’m reproducing it
manually, not via the AJAX UI in this example.)

I’ve tried with all the debugging enabled in sogo.conf and I don’t see anything
unusual: IMAP works perfectly, then sogod throws the exception above.

Any ideas? I’ve exhausted all my own - and I can’t see that it’s a known bug
(I've also reached out to the SOGo user's mailing list on the off-chance).
I’ve by-hand confirmed the database structure looks correct for a 4.0.5, but I
may have overlooked something. I briefly tried it against a fresh database
too, and that behaved the same (again, unless I was overlooking something
silly).

I cannot rule out the possibility of user error on my behalf - but I'm 90%
confident it's an issue in the 4.0.5-2 package.
(I've not been able to try other 4.0.x debian packages - but can do so if they
are available.)

No other obvious issues like missing packages etc.

Very happy to provide any other information like database schemas etc if that
would help.

The failure is most probably due to src:texlive-base.
texlive-base/2018.20190122-1 entered unstable a few days ago, replacing

First of all, great to hear from you. Life is certainly more important
than anything happening in Debian! I hope all is fine on that front,
and if you ever need a shoulder or an ear from a stranger then please
don't hesitate to grab hold of me privately. Seriously, you are
welcome, day and night - my contact info is below if needed!

As for package maintenance, my preference would be that I add myself as
Uploader and we maintain the package in collaboration - meaning we each
work on it as much as we like and find time for (don't stress!), and
nudge the other when/if needing a review or an upload.

Personally I find this better than sponsoring, and hope you agree.

Concretely, would you like to have a go at preparing a package release
now, or do you prefer that I do that? If fine with you, then I would
prefer that you do as much as possible, because I have involved myself
in quite a few places, now fighting for attention here close to freeze
:-)

I am really happy that you responded, Jonathan,

 - Jonas

With Sphinx 1.8, there is a new build failure:

  Running Sphinx v1.8.3

  Extension error:
Could not import extension sphinx.ext.pngmath (exception: No module named
pngmath)

The pngmath extension was deprecated in Sphinx 1.4 and has been removed [1]
in Sphinx 1.8. The recommended alternative is sphinx.ext.imgmath [2] which
also has SVG support in addition to PNG.

[1]: https://github.com/sphinx-doc/sphinx/pull/4702
[2]: https://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/1.8/usage/extensions/math.html

As both issues are related to Sphinx, I am not filing a new bug but adjusting
the description of this one.
