Hi Andreas!
I am another root-tail user.

I am currently running root-tail/1.2-3 on a Debian testing box, and I
am *not* experiencing the bug you reported.

I use Fluxbox (rather than WindowMaker) and start root-tail from my
~/.xsession script with the following command-line:

root-tail -f -g 538x320+8+64 -font '-*-fixed-*-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-*' \
  /var/log/messages,green /var/log/exim4/mainlog,yellow /var/log/kern.log,red

The program works as it used to do in the past.

I am no longer able to reproduce the bug. The program works (again) as
expected. This bug can be closed.

I have added the fix, that was no problem. At the moment, I have a

Bug#491736: hylafax-server: init script hangs

2008-07-21 Thread Andreas Tscharner
Package: hylafax-server
Version: 2:4.4.4-8
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The init script hangs after having started hfaxd, no more scripts get
executed. ps ax shows that hfaxd is started with the -d option. The man
page says about it: Stop hfaxd from detaching itself from the
controlling terminal.
It seems to me that this could be the reason

works. Unfortunately I have no 64bit system...

I guess it depends on what you mean with works. It will make it
build, but it'll cause problem at runtime.

You have is:
std::mapint,SQLINTEGER m_sqli
and:
typedef long SQLLEN;
typedef int SQLINTEGER;

and sizeof(long) != sizeof(int)

What looks like a better thing to do is change the SQLINTEGER to an
SQLLEN, if that's what it contains.

The attached patch makes it build for me.

Thank you for the patch. I'll make a new package this week and send the
patch to upstream.

 The configure check needs to #include resolv.h when checking
 for that function. As you can see from the log, the symbol is
 actually called __res_query, so the configure checks fails, which
 is why you need the include. Let me know if you need a patch for
 this.

Bug#346372: cvsnt: not installable in sid (libhowl0)

2006-01-09 Thread Andreas Tscharner

Laurent Bonnaud wrote:

Package: cvsnt

Hi,

Hi Laurent,

here is the problem:

# apt-get install cvsnt
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  cvsnt: Depends: libhowl0 (= 0.9.8-1) but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

Thank you for your report. The problem is already noted (although no bug
has been filed yet) and will be fixed in the next version.

Best regards
Andreas
