You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla bug tracking system
(http://bugs.skolelinux.org/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW or REOPENED state, and have not been
touched in 7 days or more.
You need to take a look at them, and decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to
someone else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make
sure that the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the
Reset Assignee to default option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Accept the bug by setting the status to ASSIGNED.

To get a list of all NEW/REOPENED bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark
it if you like!):
http://bugs.skolelinux.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEWbug_status=REOPENEDassigned_to=debian-edu@lists.debian.org

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugs.skolelinux.org/query.cgi

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs
that haven't been touched for 7 days or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

[Bug 1474] New: duplicate entries in sources.list

2012-06-23 Thread drift
http://bugs.skolelinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1474

   Summary: duplicate entries in sources.list
   Product: Skolelinux
   Version: squeeze
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P3
 Component: debian-edu-install
AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
ReportedBy: li...@weisser-ol.de

As i use to edit my /etc/apt/sources.list i found that the amd64-install of the
stable debian-edu squeeze leaves a sources.list with duplicate active entries:

line 7
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main non-free contrib
line 23
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free

it's only another server for the same files.

line 11
deb http://ftp.skolelinux.org/skolelinux squeeze local
line 24
deb http://ftp.skolelinux.org/skolelinux/ squeeze local

only difference is a slash

i installed amd64install with desktop=lxde

Hi.
Trying to install Debian Edu (Squeeze based - 64 bit flavor) from the latest
netinstall CD failed while running Finishing the installation

The progress bar stopped at about 50% with debian-edu-profile-udeb being
installed. I left the PC switched on for another day(!) but the installer
seemed to hang. So I decided to switch to another console and do a clean
shutdown. After rebooting from HD the login screen appears but I can't login as
root...
I used recovery mode to provide you the attached logfiles from
/var/log/installer

Any ideas what's wrong with my installation attempt?

Thank you!

Hi Andreas,

thanks for testing Debian Edu. The hanging bug is known, make sure that you
have read http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Status/Squeeze

Unfortunately, as I just see, it is not listed under the above link. Right now,
there is a DVD building that hopefully fixes this bug. So, I will wait before
putting it on that list. The problem occurs somewhere near the mkslapdcert
script call.

Thus...

1. you cannot log in as root graphically anymore. Use ,,localadmin'' and the
root pw for graphical login.

2. to work around the hanging, just switch your terminal from ALT+F1 to ALT+F4
and the installation should continue. As I said, we desperately hope that this
has been fixed by patch committed today.

3. If 2.) does not help, please try again with tomorrow's CD image

4. If that fails too, please try the squeeze-test DVD image

As this issue is documented in Debian BTS as http://bugs.debian.org/630970, I
will close this issue. Further observation please report their by sending an
e-Mail to

  630...@bugs.debian.org

Greets,
Mike

PS: For further info on Debian BTS and Debian Edu, please also take a look at
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/HowTo/ReportBugs, most developers of Debian
Edu/Skolelinux prefer to work with Debian BTS.

Now I got question about Danish dictionary, when installing US version with
Norwegian location. Maybe there is no Norwegian dictionary?

[Bug 1471] New: (german) gosa help links to not existing directories

Summary: (german) gosa help links to not existing directories

  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P3
 Component: Documentation
AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
ReportedBy: li...@weisser-ol.de

After installation from DebianEdu/Skolelinux netinstall-cd 20110612 and
aptitude update/safe-upgrade i find gosa-help points to non-existing
directories: e.g. when in Systeme (sorry, i have the german installation)
help says Helpdir '../doc/core/de/html/systems/' is not accessible, can't read
any helpfiles. (btw.: shouldn't it be accessable? ;-). When i
# cd /usr/share/gosa/doc/core/de/html
# ln -s ../../../plugins/systems/help/de/html/systems
i can access the helpfiles.

I'll try this procedure for every missing help i find and then report.

regards
Frank

If I click on Index in the GOsa-Help-Browser, I see that most help is
missing, absolutely correct.
Could you reported these failures directly in the Debian BTS (GOsa package)?
That would be great. (We hope to be able to close this BTS here soon ...).

Your Bugzilla buglist needs attention.

2011-06-15 Thread drift
[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

(Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make
sure that the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the
Reassign bug to default assignee of selected component option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the Accept bug command.

To get a list of all NEW/REOPENED bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark
it if you like!):
http://bugs.skolelinux.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEWbug_status=REOPENEDassigned_to=debian-edu@lists.debian.org

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugs.skolelinux.org/query.cgi

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs
that haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

It is not insane. I might not have explained it well enough, but the whole
point here is make sure that you connect the two or more network interface to
the right networks (10.0.2.x or 192.168.0.254), instead of guessing and wasting
time cabling wrong.

As this probably can't be implemented properly yet, this was more like a
wishlist when the proper kernel support comes. Agree?

The full DVD image version uses network config from the preconfigured network
setup, but the netboot version first tries DHCP before asking for manual config
if this is not successful.

Is this the intended behavior? The config I put here, is it used after
installation too? If it is not, it might be useful for people installing the
server in some random network before installing it into the preconfigured
network config.

It should be available when you install using Expert mode (choose Advanced
options, then Expert install). After you have verified that the image is OK,
you have to restart and continue your installation using normal mode. I agree
that iẗ́'s a bit cumbersome, to first test the cd/dvd by using Expert
installation, and then reboote and continue using normal mode.

That is intended behavior. The info you put in either via dhcp or manually when
doing the install via net (cd netinstal) is only used during the installastion,
afterward iẗ́ gets the same predefined setup as you would using the dvd, which
is 10.0.2.2

[Bug 1464] New: CD-ROM integrity check does not work for memory sticks

Summary: CD-ROM integrity check does not work for memory sticks

  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P3
 Component: Installation system

Using unetbootin menu-expert install-check CD-ROMs integrity, I get No valid
Debian CD-ROM error message.

I am able to install successfully using the same memory stick image, so it is
probably the memory stick search that is not done for the integrity part.

I guess it uses the mirror nearest you country, as normal Debian seems to do.

Using expert install option, you can probably be able to answer all the
questions you want and still get the debian-edu config. It is some of the idea
behind debian-edu to get the install process easy for the normal use case.
Thus, can we close this as WONTFIX?

If existing lvm config exist on hard drives, it is not possibe to delete it
even if we choose delete it (screenshot gives a lead:
partman-lvm-device-remove-lvm-span). It is possible that the lvm contains an
old version of debianedu, so this can probably happen on reinstall.

Once I got this (maybe using graphical installation while the above was text
version), it seemed like it is possible to continue despite this, and maybe get
a working installation.

How to bootstrap this is not mentioned in the documentation either

not more then add local user account without any instructions)..

Even before biosdevname is in the kernel, we can display what we know about the
network interfaces, like when you select network interface for netboot. This
can in some cases be helpful, e.g. when I know that I have inserted a 3com
network card and there is a Broadcom one on the motherboard.

debian-edu-install/preseed-values/defaults.networked

What is the solution then? Making a user account or an premade account in ldap

Please make sure that there is a bug report other place before closing a bug
about a bug elsewhere affecting debian-edu.

I guess this might be this issue:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=601363

but the change from warning to question might not be appropriate for
debian-edu, as the user already has answered yes to loose all their disks
content.

It might be that I got this error because there were 2 hard drives in the test
PC.

(In reply to comment #9)
Andreas (M.), whats the status on this?

Yeah, should work fine with Kerberos now (imap- and smtp- ticket). The (user-)
configuration still needs documentation. There is room for improvements
(address rewriting, external use, automatic configuration for the user out of
the box, etc.), but the initial problem (saving the system password in the
config file of the mail client) is fixed.

Switch bug to REMIND to keep mail system improvements in mind.

Regards,
   Andi

we have requirements for disk sizes, and if those are not met, the installation

documentation.
