Bug#491443: /var/lib/initramfs-tools/ not updated
Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.92e Severity: minor Today i've changed update_initramfs variable from yes to all. The update-initramfs scripts seems to look at the contents of the directory /var/lib/initramfs-tools/ to know for what image to update (it contain MD5 files, one for every initramfs created in this system). The problem is that nobody seems to care of cleaning that directory after a kernel removal, so it is full of obsolete files, that makes update-initramfs a bit noisy. On my system: # update-initramfs -u update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.25-2-686 update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-1-686 /boot/initrd.img-2.6.23-1-686 does not exist. Bug#407217: RTL-8169 multicast bug

Feature request: r8168 ethernet driver
After upgrading kernel from 2.6.24 to 2.6.25 my ethernet was not recognized. A real show-stopper, scared me a bit! On 2.6.24 my internal ethernetport was always recognized and module r8169 used to be loaded at boot. I found this driver to be unstable with my internal card. With the help an Ubuntu-patch (r8168-8.005.00.hardy.diff.txt) I compiled the r8168-8.005.00.tar.bz2 and got rock-solid ethernet. After my last aptitude full-upgrade, witch included kernel 2.6.25, my ethx was suddenly invisible. I solved the problem by modprobe r8169 to get my card working, then ifconfig, and finally install the new kernel headers, and compiling r8168 as before. Why isn't r8168 included in the 2.6.25-kernel? Why didn't any modules for my ethx load on my machine after the upgrade? Re: [Pkg-xen-devel] Xen status in lenny?

Is it possible that those patches will be usable in lenny, as I believe the kernel team expects to release with Linux 2.6.26? Is the forward-ported Xen patch for 2.6.26 available somewhere, so that an unofficial build of a dom0 2.6.26 for debian could be build? Not yet. Keep watching that directory.
