This is done too, thanks for having a look.

I'm not sure if it was there on my last upload, but I've added also a
chmod -x in the debian/rules that was needed for some php files that had
the x bit set in the upstream tarball. I did this:

chmod -x debian/$(package)/usr/share/doc/php-event-dispatcher/examples/*.php

It's re-uploaded here:

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/php-http-upload/php-http-upload_0.9.1-1.dsc

Thanks for having a look and if you can sponsor the upload.

RFS: Many php-* packages to be updated: php-auth-http php-compat php-config php-crypt-cbc php-event-dispatcher php-html-common php-html-select php-image-barcode php-net-ping php-net-portscan php-xml-r

2007-08-06 Thread Thomas Goirand
Dear mentors,

Since the topic about php-net-ipv4 that had a missing file in some
conditions, I realised that my php-* packages where missing the pear
.reg file, and then breaking pear install on the command line (it
doesn't know that the package is installed). Also, I repaired some
inconsistency in the copyright and my watch files are now working.

Also, as many sponsor seems not to like CDBS packages, I rewrote the
debian/rules to use debhelper scripts, taking the example from
php-net-ipv4 that seemed to be in good shame (except the -f flag, that I
have of course added to my packages).

All of my php-* packages are now in the need of a sponsor, as my past
sponsor doesn't do any sponsoring any more. As these php packages are
all the same, I would appreciate if a unique sponsor could take care of
it. Even if there's a lot of package, the workload is not that big, and
having only one guy to do the sponsorship helps a lot for later
maintainability.

My final goal for having all these packages in SID is to create a
package for h-inventory that needs all these php-* packages.

All of the package are producing a unique binary package of the same
name as the source package. All of them appear to be lintian clean.
Here's a big list:

php-auth-http - HTTP authentication

php-html-common - A base class for other HTML classes

php-html-select - A class for generating HTML form select elements

php-net-portscan - Portscanner utilities

php-xml-rss - RSS parser

I would be glad if someone could uploaded these packages for me. Once

Replacing aclocal.m4

I'm current packaging ufiformat, a USB floppy disk formatter (#436134). It's
nearly at the stage of looking for a sponsor, but before that happens I'd like
to sound people out about something.

I needed to change Makefile.am to tell it to install the binary in the right
place. When rebuilding, autotools whinged about aclocal.m4 being too old and
that I should regenerate it, which I did. Now the (compressed) patch file is
80+kB, only slightly smaller than the source code itself, and is almost
entirely comprised of the new aclocal.m4.

Is this acceptable, or does it need addressing? If so, how?

2007-08-06 Thread Magnus Holmgren
Since I still haven't get any feedback from the current maintainers (they seem
to lack time or interest, unfortunately), I'm again looking for someone
willing to review, endorse, and sponsor my changes.

LSH is an implementation (client and server) of the SSH protocol, version 2.
It is written by Niels Möller and predates OpenSSH.

The URL of the DSC is:

ftp://ftp.kibibyte.se/debian/pool/main/l/lsh/lsh_2.0.3-1.dsc

For reference, my previous post follows:

On Sunday 27 May 2007 13:27, Magnus Holmgren wrote:
 Hello, mentors!

Even though I don't really want to, I'm looking for a mentor to upload the
new version of lsh that I've prepared.

I've been in contact with its current maintainers (three weeks ago), and
they didn't mind me co-maintaining it. Three days later I mailed them my
changes, but I still haven't heard a word despite two additional pings, the
 second one sent this Monday.

Technical question: Will things get messed up by renaming the source
package now? The old lsh (the light or baby shell lsh) is still in
oldstable - do we have to wait until sarge is archived?

 Here is the changelog entry:

   * New upstream release (Closes: #422199)
 - Drop 01_fix_manpages.dpatch; incorporated upstream.
   * New co-maintainer added.
   * Rename source package lsh, as the previously clashing package is
 gone (Closes: #340354).
   * Drop the tarball-in-tarball format and ship a normal .orig.tar.gz.
 - Drop 02_fix_perms.dpatch.
 - Add some extra cleanup in debian/rules.
   * Increase Standards-Version to 3.7.2. No changes needed.
   * Fix spelling error lshc and its manpage (Closes: #417426).
   * Put some more docs in the packages: README and ChangeLog is now in all
packages, AUTHORS in lsh-utils. Update debian/copyright to refer to
 /usr/share/doc/lsh-utils/AUTHORS (Closes: #421108).
   * debian/control: Use ${binary:Version} substitution variable instead of
 ${source-version}.
   * Review Build-depends: Drop patchutils, dpatch (temporarily),
comerr-dev (redundant), po-debconf (redundant), xutils (makes no
difference); add autotools-dev, scsh-0.6 (as alternative to
 guile-1.6).

You can either run dpkg --force-overwrite while installing it
(preferrably with only one package for finer-grained control of when
the force is in effect).

Or add Replaces: foo to the package to be installed, which will cause
the file to be removed from the already-installed packages file list
(/v/l/dpkg/info). If you remove the 2nd package before the 1st
package though, the file will be gone (and the copy from the 1st
package will not be put back into place).

I note that Conflicts+Replaces is a special overloaded case that means
cause that package to be completely removed.

It's acceptable and preferred by some.

Otherwise you can depend on autotools-dev and run them at build time,
and remove the generated files at clean time to get a small diff.

autotools-dev/README.DEBIAN discusses such.

Hi there,

I went through the QA section but could not find an answer to my

s libcdk-perl_4.9.10-2_i386.changes upload.ubuntu.com Mon Aug 6

And I am pretty sure my dupload.conf is right.

This was an orphaned package if that makes any difference.

2007-08-06 Thread Thijs Kinkhorst
Hi Thomas,

First of all, thanks for your work on this set of packages.

In general, they look ok. There's one remark: you seem to not use all the
features of the debhelper system. For example you are using 'cp' or 'mv' to
install files in different places, while there is dh_install, dh_installdocs,
dh_installchangelogs etc. etc. You really should use those. Try dh_tabtab
on the command line to see all possible dh_ commands, and use those which are
most appropriate.

php-html-select - A class for generating HTML form select elements
 http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/php-html-select/php-html-selec
t_1.2.1-2.dsc

This one does not exist in the archive - although the changelog mentions
an initial release in December. Is that right?

For the following packages the following applies: you are changing the licence
in debian/copyright to the PHP 3.0 license while they are licensed under
the PHP 2.0 license. The source file says so. That is of course not good.

php-auth-http
php-config
php-crypt-cbc
php-html-common
php-html-select
php-net-ping
php-net-portscan
php-xml-rss

Since this concerns nearly all packages, I've also not uploaded the remaining
ones for now. Could you please carefully review the licensing of each of the
modules and make sure debian/copyright is consistent with the actual code?

Let me know when I should review the updated packages.

thanks,
Thijs
