You don't ship anything in /usr/bin, so why have that directory

Cool, that's a very responsive upstream. :)

xdotool will probably need to add some new binary packages for the
library and the -dev package, so the next upload might have to go
through the NEW queue.

All the details will be in the library packaging guide:
http://www.netfort.gr.jp/~dancer/column/libpkg-guide/libpkg-guide.html

I would suggest you work with Daniel to get an updated xdotool
package.

The updated package can be found on mentors.debian.net:

Once the new xdotool library is in the archive, you need to modify
your package to Build-Depend on the new -dev package.

I think it's worth waiting until this is done before uploading a new
keynav version; what do you think?

Well, upstream needs fixing as well, probably. I haven't looked at
what upstream has done with the library.

According to search result [1], only keynav uses xdotool as source form.
Do you suggest a good $(SONAME).$(SOVER) library?

Are you asking for an example Debian package of a library, or are you
asking whether libxdo.so should be in its own package?

libxdo does need to be a publically available library in order for
keynav to use it, which means that it does need a soname.

It's also important that Debian uses the same soname as other
distributions. The advice is to discuss it with upstream:

Great! Comments below.

Since your NMU did not get uploaded to Debian, you should be okay to
combine the two debian/changelog entries.

It looks to me like your debian/rules could be reduced almost as far
as /usr/share/doc/debhelper/examples/rules.tiny, but adding a --with
quilt option to dh. I haven't tested this, but it would make it
easier to understand (for me). If you do this, you need Build-Depends
as described at:
http://pkg-perl.alioth.debian.org/debhelper.html#dh___with_quilt

Is debian/nd.dirs really meant to contain /usr/bin?

debian/nd.docs is superfluous - debian/copyright doesn't need to be in
there, and the two README files and the empty NEWS file are pretty
useless.

You should add http://gohome.org/nd/ as a Homepage field in
debian/control.

I'll give it another review if you fix these. :) I think I just need
to check the copyright matches the source.
