2012-08-27 Thread Christian PERRIER
Quoting pecita.net Archive Automatic Signing Key (packa...@pecita.net):
 Christian,

I got a problem with debexpo.
I deleted the package to be able to reload a new one but now I receive a
403 Forbidden first for the orig file then for all.

Because the orig file is already on the server, I guess..

I never did that on the mentors upload queue, but the error message
you get mentions using dcut(1):

 Good signature on /home/philippe/Packages/debian/fonts-pecita_3.4-2.dsc.
Uploading to mentors-ftp (via ftp to mentors.debian.net):
Uploading fonts-pecita_3.4-2.dsc: 553 Could not create file.
Leaving existing fonts-pecita_3.4-2.dsc on the server and continuing
NOTE: This existing file may have been previously uploaded partially.
For official Debian upload queues, the dcut(1) utility can be
used to remove this file, and after an acknowledgement mail is
received in response to dcut, the upload can be re-initiated.

You probably want to get the upload queue cleaned out, then
re-upload (preferrably the -1 version).

Alternatively, point me to the whole stuff (or send it to me as a big
ZIP file) and I'll rebuild and upload.

2012-08-27 Thread Rogério Theodoro de Brito
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package tunesviewer.

podcasts from Linux. TunesViewer lets you:
.
 * Search, browse, and download videos, audio lectures, and ebooks.
 * Go directly from the loading iTunes-U... page to viewing podcast with
   TunesViewer.
 * Reveal the standard RSS-podcast-feed of an iTunes podcast, for use in
   podcast software.
 * Log in to download students-and-staff-only media.

  http://github.com/rbrito/tunesviewer

# Small comments

* The Debian changelog is very verbose and I expect to to reduce its size
once I get some feedback about the package in general.
* The package doesn't have a watch file because the upstream developers
(Luke and me) have not yet decided on a proper release scheme.

Thanks in advance,

Re-inserting package with name change

2012-08-27 Thread Olе Streicher
Hi,

I am working to re-insert a package that was removed three years
ago. Since the package name is quite short, I also changed its name: the
package name was fv [1], and I changed it to ftools-fv [2].

As recommended, I also exhumed the bugs that were closed by the package
removal. They will be fixed by the new package; the changelog contains
the appropriate Closes: #259548 entry.

However, when uploading to mentors.debian.net, the QA information
contains the error Package closes bugs in a wrong way: Bug #259548 does
not belong to this package [3].

Shall I just ignore this error? Or shall I assign the bugs to the new
(still unknown to the system) package name ftools-fv?

Another question is whether I need to somehow propagate the name
change. in debian/control, I have set Conflicts: fv; Replaces: fv
Should I also set Provides: fv? This would pollute the package
namespace again with a virtual package of this short name which was the
main reason to change it.

[1] http://packages.qa.debian.org/f/fv.html
[2] http://bugs.debian.org/682205
[3] https://mentors.debian.net/package/ftools-fv

Best regards

Ole

yes, in your case it is fine to ignore that error.

Another question is whether I need to somehow propagate the name
change. in debian/control, I have set Conflicts: fv; Replaces: fv
Should I also set Provides: fv? This would pollute the package

No, no special care is needed [*]. Technically you could even omit the
Conflicts/Replaces as fv wasn't part of Squeeze either. Having that said
it is a good idea to keep it for people who could have kept that package
installed since 2004 (which may, or may not still work). At very least
you can omit the relation for the release which is supposed to make it
into Jessie+1, if Jessie features your package with Conflicts/Replaces.

Providing fv does not make any sense unless there are packages which
depend on it (there must not), or people might be upgrading with a fv
package installed to hint apt but there is no support for upgrades
beyond one release at time.

[*] Your upload needs to clear NEW, however.

Bug#685998: RFS: 0install/1.11-1 [ITP] -- rename zeroinstall-injector package

2012-08-27 Thread Thomas Leonard
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear Mentors,

I am a DM, maintaining the zeroinstall-injector package. I have split it into
separate packages to avoid pulling in GTK on headless servers. Could someone
check it and approve the new package names? My previous mentor (Jens Peter
Secher) is no longer a DD.

It now builds these binary packages:

  0install-core (contains the code)
0install (metapackage that depends on 0install-core and GTK)
zeroinstall-injector (transitional package so that using the old
package name still works)

I updated the name as injector is no longer used, and the main command is now
0install.

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/0install

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/0/0install/0install_1.11-1.dsc

More information about 0install can be obtained from http://0install.net.

Regards,

 T. Leonard

Hi,

the watch file for the mriconvert package[1] is obviosely not working because

However, there should be some chance to drain the current version from other

You could simply write a watch file for one of the binaries that have a version
number. Then the watch file can be used to track newer upstream releases, not
for downloading the newest source code.

This would work but uscan doesn't like the file that gets downloaded:

libtool cannot create a file in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ within pbuilder environment

drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 24576 Aug 27 18:30 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/

If I login to pbuilder environment and run fakeroot debian/rules
binary by hand, it works just fine.

Do you have any hints on why would it fail if run by pbuilder in
automatic mode? Where should I look for clues?

Thanks.

2012-08-27 Thread Paul Gevers
 `/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcupsfilters.so.1.0.0': Permission denied

You don't have permissions, obviously. This is because pbuilder runs
under the pbuilder user, not under root.

 drwxr-xr-x 37 root root 4096 Aug 27 18:30 /usr/lib
 drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 24576 Aug 27 18:30 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/

I think this actually catches an error. Why install in /usr/lib? I think
it needs to install into your package, not in the pbuilder file
structure. Probably some makefile or install script is installing into
the wrong (hardcoded) location.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply - I've been busy recently, and I assumed that your
email was spam due to the email name until I saw the bug report with the
same email...
I would assume that this usage falls under fair use... but to be sure, I'll
ask upstream about it (CC'ed).
[Upstream: please reply to all emails - my email, the reporter's email, and
CC to the two bug reports.]

Thanks!
Albert

Oops, didn't actually CC upstream... let's try that again!

Bug#686042: RFS: libpam-ssh/1.92-15 [ITP] [REINTRODUCTION] [MINIMAL CHANGE]

2012-08-27 Thread Jerome BENOIT

Hello:

Yes, put this intermediate package to get libpam-ssh back to Wheezy.
I really do think it is a minimal difference package as I only touched slightly
the Debian part
(mainly the debian/rule which was rendered minimal by using a pure dh approach)
but not the source itself (except a couple of warning fixes): it is just a
Debian update.

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

Is your goal to add this package to wheezy ? The package at mentors uploaded
there on 2012-08-27 23:55 appears to have more than minimal differences with
1.92-14.

Regards,

Bart Martens
