Bug#857998: nmu: slepc_3.7.3+dfsg1-5

2017-03-16 Thread Drew Parsons
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: binnmu

Looks like the PIE contradictions between dpkg and gcc have been
smoothed out across the board. petsc 3.7.5 now builds on all
architectures (except kfreebsd and a couple of build-deps on others).
In particular petsc 3.7.5 is now available on hurd-i386 powerpc x32,
so we need to rebuild slepc to match on those architectures.

nmu slepc_3.7.3+dfsg1-5 . hurd-i386 powerpc x32 . unstable . -m "Build against
PETSc 3.7.5."

I'd like to make gitlab user configurable as requested in
#854617. This will be helpful for people who want to migrate from
manual installation to debian package (which I think would be a
large number of potential gitlab users) or wants use git as
username instead of gitlab (its a user visible change and ssh
urls for projects in a gitlab instance includes username).

Dear release team,

KDE Plasma 5.8 is an LTS release that I consider fit to be updated in stretch.
This particular request is for plasma-nm 5.8.6.

The changes in the 5.8.6 version include:
 + Translation updates
+ Fix crash caused by notifications use-after-free (a19794a)
+ OpenVPN: Remove previously configured secrets to avoid passing them back
   (30226c5)
+ Set captive portal detection url to http://networkcheck.kde.org (407cb2c
   7defc68)

No changes worth mentioning on the Debian side.

The full debdiff is about 1.1M, almost everything are changes in the po
files, to avoid sending this to the list I'm attaching a "poless" debdiff
which is 18K and the upstream gitlog (31K). And I'm making the full debdiff
available in
 https://freak.gnuservers.com.ar/~maxy/debian/plasma-nm_5.8.6_unblock

I haven't uploaded plasma-nm 4:5.8.6-1 yet, but I would like to upload it if
this gets approved.

Please unblock package plasma-nm

Happy hacking,

Dear release team,

KDE Plasma 5.8 is an LTS release that I consider fit to be updated in stretch.
This particular request is for plasma-sdk 5.8.6.

The fixes included in the plasma-sdk 5.8.6 release are:
 Translation updates
 2 bug fixes:
+ Changes to support the new KDevplatform API (ad6e3b7 a655f87)

This change is of no consequence to Debian, as we still have the previous
KDevplatform, the KDevplatform version is detected at build time, so once
the new KDevplatform is uploaded, plasma-sdk would need to be rebuild.

+ Fix handling of paths with whitespace in bash (a18d9d3)

On the Debian side, we add a missing runtime dependency of
qml-module-org-kde-kirigami, needed by lookandfeelexplorer (#857633)

I'm attaching a poless version of the debdiff against the 5.8.4-1 version
currently in stretch, and the upstream gitlog, the full debdiff (388K) is
available in:

Hi,

I want to request unblock of zeroc-ice/3.6.3-5, it include a fix
for RC bug 857219

There was a broken symlink in the previous version that should have
not been included in the package.

The new package also include a minor fix to not install unversioned
jar files.

debdiff included bellow

Please unblock package ifupdown2

Hi,

This release fixes a bug due to a localized string in a grep filter.

Following up on the comments received during last unblock request. I've added
the LC_ALL directive to the pre, post inst and postrm files.

unblock dh-make-perl/0.94

Please unblock package dh-make-perl 0.94.

This upload fixes #856532, a regression introduced by some
refactoring in 0.93 in a rarely used code path (that's why we didn't
catch it). The upload only adds a trivial missing method.

Changelog:

dh-make-perl (0.94) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Carnë Draug ]
  * Fix "Error: Can't locate object method "get_user"" Create new
DhMakePerl::Command::Packaging->get_user method which is used when
DEBEMAIL and EMAIL are unset. Fixes regression from 0.93.
(Closes: #856532)

 -- gregor herrmann Thu, 16 Mar 2017 21:22:51 +0100

I'm attaching the diff against 0.93, slightly redacted to remove the
redundant $VERSION changes which are present in each perl module.

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#827061: transition: openssl

So I made a list by the time I received that email I just managed to
work through it. I check most of them manually but by the end of it I
hacked something that checked if any of the libssl1.0.2 symbols were
used.
Anyway. Most of them do not use libssl at all. A few use for a
testsuite or load it at runtime.
As next course of action I would make sure that each libssl1.0-dev
package has a bug to move it back to libssl-dev for Buster.
Is anything that blocks this bug from getting closed?

My protocol:
389-ds-base-1.3.5.15 Seems not to use it, had it from netsmp
alljoyn-gateway-1504-15.04~git20160606 seems not to use it.

bro-aux-0.38 seem to check for it but not use it
cacti-spine-0.8.8h recommends openssl, probably for netsnmp reasons, does not
user it.
carbon-c-relay-2.5 used libssl-dev for crypto but not is selfcontained.
citus-6.0.1.PGDG recommends using openssl-devel but does not use opessl
connectome-workbench-1.2.3+git3-g7b83782 Recommends it, but it seems not using
it.

Bug#857978: unblock: dh-make-perl/0.94

2017-03-16 Thread gregor herrmann

User: release.debian@packages.debian.org

unblock dh-make-perl/0.94

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#857958: unblock: zeroc-ice/3.6.3-5

2017-03-16 Thread Jose Gutierrez de la Concha
Hi Emilio,

That is expected, we decide to change -debian suffix to -3.6 to be able to
co install several version in the future -3.7 -4.0,
as that is something our users my wish. I asked in Java dev list what was
the proper way to deal with multiple java verions
of a package and that is the recommended approach.

I'd like to upload openssh 1:7.4p1-8 containing two fixes cherry-picked
from upstream, and am seeking pre-approval. One of the fixes is for
data corruption in ssh-keygen and I think should be uncontroversial
(severity: serious). The other is incorrect output from ssh-keyscan
that turned up in bug reports related to the ssh-keygen bug; I can't
quite justify severity: serious for it, but it's a small patch and I'd
like to include it while I'm here.

Please unblock package debian-edu-install, it fixes an important bug (#856493),
which needs a oneliner fix in preseed-values/defaults.ltsp-server:

+d-i ltsp-client-builder/server_packages string ltsp-server

The other changes are debconf translations and switching the package to source
format
3.0 (native).

As usual, this needs a "KiBi-ack", as debian-edu-install contains a udeb, which
is
not used in the default debian-installer…

I uploaded stable update (subminor version change) of python-pymysql to sid
which fixies security
bug:
* **SECURITY FIX**: Raise RuntimeError when received LOAD_LOCAL packet
  while ``loacal_infile=False``.
(from upstream changelog)

And MariaDB compatibility:
* Raise SERVER_LOST error for MariaDB's shutdown packet (#540)

And have no break-API changes.

Kindly asking to unblock this migration.

Thanks.

It's not at this stage. Unblocked this one time, but please next time don't do
such a change, even if it was in git for months.

Bug#857963: unblock: plasma-sdk/5.8.6-1

2017-03-16 Thread Maximiliano Curia
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

I'm attaching a poless version of the debdiff against the 5.8.4-1 version
currently in stretch, and the upstream gitlog, the full debdiff (388K) is
available in:
 https://freak.gnuservers.com.ar/~maxy/debian/plasma-sdk_5.8.6_unblock

I haven't uploaded the the 5.8.6-1 version just yet, but I would like to
upload it only after this gets approved.

Happy hacking,

Please unblock package plasma-sdk

why can't you post the *CORRECT* debdiff?

The diff between -4 and -5 as found in the archive looks much better and
should actually fix the issue ...

Attaching this diff as well as one from -2 to -5 for completeness.

Changing the source format at this stage makes an RM unhappy...

The rest of the changes look fine.

Please unblock package rekall. I have fixed #856926 as advised by
relaxing the versioned dependencies via an additional patch.
Please see attached debdiff against 1.6.0+dfsg-1 which is currently
in testing.

For the record, there are also some small changes resulting from
the use of gbp's patch-queue feature, which was used for the first
time here. It moved around some patch contents and changed some patch
headers.

If that is not acceptable for an unblock please just let me know,
I'll make a new -3 upload reverting the patch modifications.

according to the diff between -4 and -5 that was posted, the location of
the config file templates is still taken from a conffile, so while
upgrading the postinst will still look in the location set by -2, which
does no longer exist.

Unfortunately testing to show that this is true will require manual
work, since it needs a stretch from snapshots where gitlab was still
installable.

Bug#857958: unblock: zeroc-ice/3.6.3-5

Hi,

I want to request unblock of zeroc-ice/3.6.3-5, it include a fix
for RC bug 857219

There was a broken symlink in the previous version that should have
not been included in the package.

The new package also include a minor fix to not install unversioned
jar files.

debdiff included bellow

I'm afraid that 1:7.4p1-8 caused a CI failure, and on investigation this
was a real problem easily reproduced in a local adt-run. Sorry for not
noticing this earlier. I've uploaded 1:7.4p1-9 to fix this with the
following diff. This will presumably need another d-i ack, and
certainly an adjustment to the existing hint.

Re: Re: Rebuilding packages to increase Stretch's PIE coverage

Could someone give a progress report how far this is completed? And an
estimate when it will be fully done?
I'd like to do a complete piuparts retesting of stretch, but I want to
wait for the PIE rebuilds to have finished first ...

Bug#857938: unblock: plasma-nm/4:5.8.6-1

2017-03-16 Thread Maximiliano Curia
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Happy hacking,

unblock plasma-nm/4:5.8.6-1

Hi

irqbalance on jessie ist still affected by #784391, causing irqbalance
to spam logs under certain conditions where affinity_hint subset is
empty.

Attached the proposed debdiff. Can you consider it to be accepted for
the next jessie point release?

Regards,
Salvatore

Bug#857918: unblock: debian-edu-install/1.915

2017-03-16 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Please unblock package debian-edu-install, it fixes an important bug (#856493),
which needs a oneliner fix in preseed-values/defaults.ltsp-server:

+d-i ltsp-client-builder/server_packages string ltsp-server

The other changes are debconf translations and switching the package to source
format
3.0 (native).

As usual, this needs a "KiBi-ack", as debian-edu-install contains a udeb, which
is
not used in the default debian-installer…

Bug#857914: unblock: rekall/1.6.0+dfsg-2

2017-03-16 Thread Sascha Steinbiss
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Please unblock package rekall. I have fixed #856926 as advised by
relaxing the versioned dependencies via an additional patch.
Please see attached debdiff against 1.6.0+dfsg-1 which is currently
in testing.

For the record, there are also some small changes resulting from
the use of gbp's patch-queue feature, which was used for the first
time here. It moved around some patch contents and changed some patch
headers.

If that is not acceptable for an unblock please just let me know,
I'll make a new -3 upload reverting the patch modifications.

Bug#856610: unblock: sqlalchemy/1.1.5+ds1-1

2017-03-16 Thread Piotr Ożarowski
FYI: I plan to upload sqlalchemy 1.1.6+ds1-1 (i.e. a new upstream
release in 1.1.X series). I assume if you will allow 1.1.5, then there's
no reason to not allow 1.1.6 - i.e. next bug fix release in 1.1 series.

Note that upstream already started working on 1.2 series which I'm not
considering for Stretch - these one gets new features and f.e. drops
Python 2.6 (which we don't support since a long time, but still) - my
point is: upstream is sane.

Please unblock package ifupdown2

Hello,

After our last release (and unblock) we had a bug report, impacting non-english
systems (because of an english word in a grep filter). This bug has been fixed.
We are requesting an unblock to fix the issue in stretch.

Thanks

Can you elaborate? Why is the fix not right? And even if not proper, is it going
to do the trick, i.e. is the upgrade path fine now?

Cheers,
Emilio

oops sorry.
it was the outcome of a somewhat streamlined workflow on my side,
(uploading source-only and immediately filing an unblock request) which
didn't take into account that the release team would react so fast
(instead hoping that by the time someone would look at the unblock
request, the package would be properly available.

i see however, that its not much fun on your side if you have to look
into unblock request which miss important parts.

anyhow. the package is now built on all archs and has entered unstable.

thanks for your work!

Please unblock package pd-windowing

this fixes a recently discovered piuparts issue (dangling symlinks).

it also fixes a number of other (minor) things:
- switched to copyright-format/1.0
- tightened dependencies
- fixed URLs for Vcs and upstream
- checked against new standards version

since this is a leave package, impact should be minimal.

Hi,
I've uploaded flatpak's new upstream bug fix release 0.8.4 to
experimental for now, but I'd like it to be considered for stretch.
If necessary I'll talk to upstream about whether they can be more
conservative with their stable-branch / more thorough about documenting
the impact of bugs that are fixed.

I attach a debdiff between stretch and experimental, filtering out
translations and documentation (some documentation fixes are also
included, mainly adding options to the man pages that were previously
only in --help, but I assume you're less interested in reviewing those).
Please let me know if there's anything you want me to revert or raise
with upstream.

I expect that an 0.8.4-3 upload to unstable would differ only in the
changelog, and possibly the profile.d snippet (profile/flatpak.sh.in,
debian/patches/Improve-and-simplify-profile-snippet.patch) depending
on what the results are of upstreaming the current Debian patch.
If there are changes outside the changelog, I'll attach a debdiff
between 0.8.4-2 and 0.8.4-3 for RT approval.

Dear release team,

KDE Plasma 5.8 is an LTS release that I consider fit to be updated in stretch.
This particular request is for libkscreen 5.8.6.

Compared to the 5.8.4 version currently in stretch the 5.8.6 release fixes
are:
+ Allow changing an output's modelist at runtime (7367e55) [1]
 + Disable low level logging (04a6483) [2] (Closes: #846940)
+ Improve laptop panel detection (57cd4d1)

On the Debian side, the symbols file adds the new symbols related to 7367e55,
and notes the mentioned closes.

I'm attaching the full debdiff and the upstream gitlog.

The 4:5.8.6-1 version is currently in experimental, and I would like to upload
the 4:5.8.6-2 version to unstable if this gets approved.

Please unblock package libkscreen

Happy hacking,

Fix type argument for get property call

We were passing the wrong argument in there, it has to be the atom's
type, not the atom property itself.

This fixes detection of the laptop panel in some cases, where we can't
fix it with our fallback mechanism.

disable logging to kscreen.log by default

Summary:
Most of the issues that this feature should uncover have been uncovered,
it makes sense to disable the logging (and futzing around with
QCategorizedLogging) by default, and only use it to debug specific
setups.

Test Plan: Adjusted autotests accordingly.

Dear release team,

KDE Plasma 5.8 is an LTS that I consider fit to be updated in stretch, this
particular request is to provide the 5.8.6 version of plasma-workspace in
stretch, and I'll be producing similar requests for the other KDE Plasma
components in the following days.

>From the upstream side, plasma-workspace 5.8.6 contains ~30 fixes compared to
the 5.8.4 version currently in stretch, among them:
 - Fix crash when switching activities, after several uses (05826bd)
 - Fix crash when the media player provides invalid information (03374b1)
 - Move updating of primary screen in screenpool after fetching its id
   (bdfa0f3, reproducible crash fix)
 - Several fixes regarding multiple displays (b0b31de 3792ef9 dd0d19d 19a8803
   44c703d f7b170d bdfa0f3 0b0d146)
 - User facing changes:
   - [Lock Screen] Add keyboard icon for keyboard layout switcher (b34601f)
   - Fix "Unable to assign [undefined] to int" log (f4b5dfb)
   - [SDDM Theme] Remember last username (83fac04)

On the Debian side of changes we add sddm-theme-debian-breeze, that contains
the breeze theme adapted to the new desktop-base. We are also fixing the bugs:
 - Add missing runtime dependency (#836241, rc)
 - Add missing x-session-manager provides (#853885, requested by the
   debian-edu team)
 - Add powerdevil recommends (#793463)

Due to the size of the diff I'm only attaching the Debian changes, and
publishing the other files in:
 https://freak.gnuservers.com.ar/~maxy/debian/plasma-workspace_5.8.6_unblock/

Currently plasma-workspace 4:5.8.6-1 is in experimental, and I would upload it
to sid if this gets approved.
