Package: paraview
Version: 3.14.1-1
Severity: minor

The splash screen stays when pressing Ctrl-O to open files before the splash
screen disappears. The splash screen then stays in front of the open file
dialog which is a bit annoying. It only disappears once the "Open File" dialog
is closed again.

Regards,
Ansgar

Bug #816719: chealpix: FTBFS on mips: timed out

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.

Dear Maintainer,

the latest vtk6 needs a dependency on libhdf5-openmpi-dev, I guess it's because
of the enabling the parallel version in a108eef. Test case is again:

Source: opengm
Version: 2.3.6-1
Severity: important
Justification: fails to build from source

Builds of opengm for kFreeBSD failed:

  /«PKGBUILDDIR»/include/opengm/utilities/meminfo.hxx: In static member
function 'static double sys::MemoryInfo::usedSystemMem()':
  /«PKGBUILDDIR»/include/opengm/utilities/meminfo.hxx:135:22: error: aggregate

cannot be defined
 struct sysinfo memInfo;

The Hurd autobuilders haven't gotten to opengm yet, but it looks like
they'll encounter the same error when they do.

Could you please take a look? From a quick glance at the relevant
header, I believe simply adding

  && defined(__linux__)

to line 46 of meminfo.hxx should address the error.

Thanks!

You're quick :)

Thanks for the tips.  I'm intending to remove the links in /usr/lib,
converting alternative petsc.so to petsc.so.multiarch (i.e. use only
pure multiarch links with no legacy links.)  Hopefully your discussions
can help sort that out.

openmpi on mips seems to be in a sorry state at the moment.

Indeed, even though the petsc builds halts on the fortran test, there
is an mpicc segfault earlier in the log at "TESTING: checkCCompiler":

I'm downgrading this bug to "Important" since it will clear as soon as
Bug#818909 is fixed (i.e. the bug is in openmpi, not in petsc).

Bug#820080: libpetsc{-, complex-}3.6.3-dev: leaves alternatives after purge: /etc/alternatives/libpetsc_{real, complex}.so

2016-04-05 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: libpetsc-complex-3.6.3-dev,libpetsc3.6.3-dev
Version: 3.6.3.dfsg2-1
Severity: important
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned files on
the system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8:

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails

The leftover files are actually alternatives that were installed by the
package but have not been properly removed.

While there is ongoing discussion how to remove alternatives correctly
(see https://bugs.debian.org/71621 for details) the following strategy
should work for regular cases:
* 'postinst configure' always installs the alternative
* 'prerm remove' removes the alternative
* 'postrm remove' and 'postrm disappear' remove the alternative
In all other cases a maintainer script is invoked (e.g. upgrade,
deconfigure) the alternatives are not modified to preserve user
configuration.
Removing the alternative in 'prerm remove' avoids having a dangling link
once the actual file gets removed, but 'prerm remove' is not called in
all cases (e.g. unpacked but not configured packages or disappearing
packages) so the postrm must remove the alternative again
(update-alternatives gracefully handles removal of non-existing
alternatives).

Note that the arguments for adding and removing alternatives differ, for
removal it's 'update-alternatives --remove '.

Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release
goal since lenny.

Ensemble on

votre flore intestinale (pardon, votre microbiote !) dégénère.
