Dear Lauer, The output of command lspci -v cannot be taken as login into the server is not possible as older OS solaris was formatted or new OS linux is giving problem. I will try to remove connected (unusual) extension boards in PCI slots and give you the log after that. Thank you.. Re: console [tty0] enabled, bootconsole disabled while booting from disk after complete installation
Dear Lauer, Im getting sun/cassini.bin firmware file missing error before the installation even after loading some firmware files through USB stick which are downloaded from Debian archive i.e. http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/firmware/wheezy/current/ I could not able to resolve that error.Whether the error bootconsole disabled is due to above firmware missing proble. If so please let me know where can i find that firmware as i have searched so much through out the archive but didnt find any. Im using sun V890 server for installation. Im trying the above cmdline option console=ttyS0 while installing debian.I will let u know about the result soon. Thank you for the reply. Dear shyam, I do not have the knowledge to solve your Silo bug. Maybe you can look what real error is generated. You can switch consoles to the install log output. It got to be alt-f6 or alt-f5, if I am well. Hoop it helps. Thanks, Frans van Berckel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-sparc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Just out of my mind, I did not check: If you are using a keybord and a monitor attached to the machine you try to install, you can switch to a text console / shell via ALT-F1 or ALT-F2. Somewhere on your disk you should find the configuration file named silo.conf. After installation, it's in /boot, but I don't know by mind where the disk is mounted during installation. I would check this file (does it look reasonable?). Then run silo manually (chroot into the system? ). Hopefully, you will get better error messages. If you are using a serial console: no idea.
