Bonjour, Depuis que je suis passé à icedove 2 (de sid), l'icône icedove.xpm (qui se trouvait dans /usr/share/pixmaps) a disparu de mon système. Ce n'est pas franchement bien gênant, mais ça fait un eu désordre. En attendant que le truc revienne à la normal, quelqu'un qui a l'icône chez lui pourrait-il avoir la gentillesse de me l'envoyer ? Perte du défilement avec la molette de la souris
Phénomène curieux : j'ai perdu ce matin le défilement avec la molette de la souris subitement ! Je ne m'explique pas comment cela s'est passé ! J'ai débranché rebranché mais rien ! La souris est toute simple, une logitech optical premium. Je suis sous gnome. Bonjour, Je viens d'essayer ce paquet cité dans le sujet. Plus de souris. C'est pourtant un mulot tout bête, 2 boutons et une molette. En réalité, au lancement du WM (WindowMaker), le pointeur est au milieu et ne bouge plus. Puis il disparaît, mais c'est peut-être à cause de unclutter. Mais il ne réapparaît pas si je bouge la souris. Je suis revenu sur le 2.6.21 et tout est normal. Ce ne doit donc pas être un souci Xorg. J'utilise le pilote nv sous Xorg. Parce que si c'est le cas, il me semble que l'option Emulate3Buttons doit être positionnée à false. true étant réservée à l'émulation d'une souris 3 boutons :). [testing] montage d'un disque externe
Bonjour, J'ai un problème avec le montage d'un disque externe. Je suis sous Gnome et quand je branche le disque (USB ou Firewire) celui-ci est bien monté mais avec comme propriétaire root ce qui m'empêche d'écrire dessus. Si je branche une clé USB par contre je n'ai pas de problème c'est bien mon user qui est propriétaire. Je pensais qu'un disque externe était vu comme une clé USB mais ce n'est manifestement pas le cas. Comment changer ce comportement? Bonjour; Sans répondre directement à ton problème, avec un 2.6.22 (non debian: source de kernel.org et patch suspend2), j'ai un problème similaire: c'est sur un portable, le curseur du pavé tactil fonctionne, mais la souris usb ne fait qu'un défilement vertical. Je sui obligé de suprimer le module psmouse pour que l'usbmouse fonctionne. A l'inverse, si je remet psmouse, le curseur disparait mais réapparait et fonctionne uniquement si je switch au moins une fois, d'un bureau à un autre (je suis sous gnome) Bref, c'est agaçant mais pas dramatique pour moi. Il y a au moins 6 fichiers (dont 4 identiques) : / . .. /lost+found /lost+found/. /lost+found/.. monte-le, vas-y, « chown gaetan.gaetan . », démonte-le. Le truc c'est que le point de montage qui se crée dans /media est attribué à root alors que pour vfat il est attribué à celui qui monte. Pour vfat, il est attribué à celui qui monte parce qu’il n’y a pas de propriétaire identifié. Pour ext2/3, il est attribué à celui qui en est déjà le propriétaire, puisque son UID/GID est noté dedans. -- Sylvain Sauvage

jog/shuttle et cinelerra
Bonjour,
Je viens de recevoir un jog/shuttle Contour ShuttleXpress, celui avec
5 boutons.
J'ai trouvé un programme en C écrit par Arendt David pour le gérer,
mais pour les [ et ],ça ne fonctionnait pas ( à cause du clavier
français ).
J'ai modifié cette fonction et maintenant, de gauche à droite, les
boutons sont: undo, [, cut, ], redo.
J'en ai profité pour mettre 3 vitesses avant et arrière sur le shuttle
à la place des deux initialement programmées.
Pour utiliser ce soft avec cinelerra ( avec kino il n'est pas utile )
il suffit de déterminer l'event utilisé par ce shuttle, et de le rendre
readable par tous ( /dev/input/eventX , ou X est 1,2,3... )
Ensuite, lancer cshuttle par: ./cshuttle /dev/input/eventX
Voici le source, à compiler par:
gcc -Wall cshuttle.c -o cshuttle -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -lXtst
Il y a quelques warnings sans conséquences.

[…] Tout est dans dmesg : les disques ATAPI ne sont plus nommés hdX mais sont maintenant gérés comme les disques SATA et SCSI et sont nommés sdX. Ton lecteur de cartes 5 en 1 prend les périphériques sda à sde. Tes deux disques dur sont devenus sdf et sdg. Ton /dev/hda1 est donc devenu /dev/sdf1. La solution courte est de modifier ton fstab (hda1 → sdf1) mais ça inverse le problème pour le 2.6.18. Une meilleure solution, plus durable : utiliser une étiquette pour cette partition. Pour cela (« monboot » est l’étiquette, tu peux mettre ce que tu veux ou presque) : — tune2fs -L monboot /dev/hda1 (ou sda1, suivant le noyau) ; — modifie fstab en remplaçant /dev/hda1 par « LABEL=monboot ». On remarquera aussi deux choses dans ton dmesg : 1. tes cdrom/cdrw sont aussi touchés. Les périphériques sont srX, sgX, scdX. Le plus simple est d’utiliser /dev/cdrom (lien créé automatiquement par udev). 2. le second cdrom n’est plus là (?) -- Sylvain Sauvage

Plugin java amd64 iceweasel (etch)
Bonjour, Je n'arrive pas à installer le plugin java dans iceweasel (attention, sur AMD64). J'ai fait: apt-get install ia32-sun-java5-bin ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.06/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so chmod root:users /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so redémarrer iceweasel Rien n'y fait, le plugin n'est pas loadé... Y a-t-il un moyen de voir des traces qq part pour comprendre pourquoi il ne se charge pas ? Je remarque aussi qu'il n'y a pas de .xpt correspondant au plugin java, alors que les autres plugins (totem, flash) ont un xpt. Est-ce lié ? [HS] Un outil de prise de note avec tags?
Hello! Le sujet est un peu HS, mais je tente quand même ma chance, parce que je n'ai rien trouvé de pertinent chez notre ami google... Je cherche un outil de gestion de notes, genre bloc notes pas forcément élaboré, mais qui me permette d'attribuer des étiquettes/tags à mes notes. En gros, je cherche quelque chose du style delicious, mais orienté prise de note, avec système de tags, et bien évidemment qui tourne sous Debian!! J'ai bien trouvé helipad, qui, quoique je ne l'ai pas testé, semble bien correspondre à ce que je cherche. Le seul hic, c'est que j'aime bien garder une trace hors-ligne de mes documents. installation xen sous debian lenny
Bonjour, J'ai voulu essayer d'installer xen sur ma debian lenny, qui a un noyau 2.6.21, mais j'ai des erreurs quand j'essaie de le lancer... Déja, au niveau de l'install des paquets, j'ai remarqué, qu'il n'y avait pas de linux-image 2.6.21 por xe, mais j'avais lu qu'apparemment, ce n'est plus la peine à partir du 2.6.21. Samba como PDC
Tengo un par de dudas con samba. Tengo configurado debian como pdc de la red (es hora de quitar mi NT). Entonces, son pocos usuarios y no estoy tirando de ningún LDAP. Los windows entran bien en el dominio y funciona todo como yo quiero, pero el otro día arranque un pc sin conexión a la red y resulta que cargo el perfil (supongo que uno local). - Como puedo hacer para que si no tiene conexión con el server no inicie sesión el usuario? osea, que le diga que el dominio no está disponible. - Como se pueden configurar las directivas de usurio con Samba? Yo tengo un script de inicio, pero no se si se puede hacer lo mismo que con un w2000 o w2003 server en el que configuras directivas de grupo o de máquinas. Nos logueamos como root: # apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nv Si esta instalado nos avisa, sino lo instala. Luego hay que editar el xorg.conf, hay dos formas, a la Debian y la rápida. A la Debian es: # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg Ventajas, tenes la oportunidad de configurar todo desde 0. Desventajas, son muchas preguntas. La rápida: # EditorDeTextos /etc/X11/xorg.conf Donde EditorDeTextos es tu editor de textos de consola preferido. Si no tenes ninguno preferido en modo texto, te recomiendo mcedit. rsync + ulimit
Al intentar hacer un rsync entre dos equipos a traves de una red
gigabit sobre una barbaridad de ficheros, me devuelve el error:
ERROR: out of memory in receive_file_entry
rsync error: error allocating core memory buffers (code 22) at
util.c(120) [receiver=2.6.8]
Preguntas:
1. Esto es problema del servidor rsync o del cliente ? Quien es el que
no puede hacer la lista ?
2. He leído por ahí que es problema de configurar el ulimit -s, pero
por mucho que se lo aumento en el script, me devuelve el mismo error.
Cual es la manera de hacer esto correctamente ?
3. Alguna otra sugerencia ? (en los parámetros propios del rsync)
Utilizo una version relativamente moderna 2.6.8.

¿Notas adhesvisas, con alarma?
Hola a todos. He estado buscando por la red y por esta lista alguna aplicación que sea como las notas adhesvias que permite Gnome, pero con una alarma o algo parecido, pero no he encontrado algo así. He mirado también Tomboy, pero tampoco me permite fijarle una alarma. Lo ideal sería una aplicación del estilo de notas adhesivas pero a la que se le pueda planificar que nos muestre a tal hora el mensaje en pantalla o reproduzca un sonido... ¿Alguien sabe algo por el estilo? Isoqlog correos root
Saludos. Tengo implementado en mi red empresarial Isoqlog para poder revisar las estadísticas del correo, seg'un las cuentas, mensajes enviados, tamaño. etc. Pero el dichoso programa...como el utiliza el fichero /var/log/mail.log para su trabajolos mensajes de aviso,etc,etc. Resulta bastante molesto ver que se enviaron por ejemplo 15000 mensajes.y se recibieron 12400 en el dia y de ellos mas de la mitad no son correos reales..sino simples avisas de cron, o apache o cuanta aplicacion notifique al root de cualquier evento. Como se elimina esto? hay alguna forma de que isoqlog ignore los mensajes para esta cuenta en especifico? Saludos desde Cuba.. Si el usuario no tiene acceso a red, al menos el windows le deja acceso a local recordando el ultimo acceso con exito, para que al menos pueda acceder al equipo, si quieres cambiar ese comportamiento me imagino que tendras que reconfigurar dicho equipo windows en sus politicas de acceso, si es que esto es configurable bajo windows. Só frisando, não tente usar VoIP com link compartilhado. Tínhamos o Speedy Negócios antes, funcionava bem quando funcionava, mas vira e mexe ficávamos sem sinal, e como nos tornamos completamente dependentes de internet, tivemos mesmo largar o link compartilhado e ir para um dedicado, não pela velocidade, mas pelo comprometimento de estar funcionando 24x7, devido urgência em respostas, propostas e projetos por e-mail. Como já estávamos em implantação de link dedicado, aderimos ao VoIP, e no fim das contas, apesar de pagar uma fortuna do link, ainda tivemos uma economia significativa. Só frisando, não tente usar VoIP com link compartilhado. Foi instalado um modem para fibra óptica em anel (DM), fizeram toda a instalação/fusão da fibra da rua e dentro da empresa. O DM se liga a um roteador que divide a banda para VoIP e dados. Na porta de VoIP está o servidor de VoIP/IAD e na porta de dados o gateway que já tinha configurado na rede, só mudei para o novo IP. Simples assim. No contrato, temos uma disponibilidade de 99,5% de tempo do link no ar, máximo de 3 interrupções por mês e banda a contratar, isto é, conforme vamos precisando, vamos aumentando, tudo por telefone e em tempo real. Você também pode usar o sudo ao invés de tornar-se root e abrir o arquivo, (sudo gedit /etc/fstab), só que o sudo precisa estar instalado/configurado. Ao conectar-se via ssh você está na máquina da pessoa, se o dono da sessão X não utilizar o xhost para dar permissões para você, não há muito que você possa fazer, o melhor é usar VNC (você pode usar VNC via SSH), ou então usar o recurso de compartilhamento de sessão do screen (-x). Compiling all packages with debug information?
Hello everybody, as I'm running unstable I sometimes find bugs in applications. Now it would be very nice if there was some way to get the matching debug information for the packages, so gdb could print a better backtrace, or eg. show exactly which line segfaults. Currently I'd have to recompile the packages myself, and installing them over the debian files - which is, depending on the package and its prerequisites, a major hazzle. How about compiling all programs with debugging information, and strip them into a -dbginfo package, or something likewise for apt-get source? Like the -dev packages only people who think they need them would install them. This would be a good help for determining the location of problems, and would cost the debian maintainers not so much. If you will be to use dynamic IP, I recommend DNSexit (www.dnsexit.com). Its TTL is adjusted low, so it has a faster propagation, about ten minutes only, I guess. RMS wanted Debian to have -dbg packages for every package, but because of
the effort involved (10,000 source package x 11 architectures), only a

to just email the maintainer or file a 'wishlist' bug in the BTS or
both?

But if it works, it does the job well and the code is actively developed. It integrates well with Linux (for example it uses gnuplot for plotting, lapack for solving system of matrices etc.,). Hello everyone. What is the preferred method of starting an iptables script at boot time on Debian hosts? I have come across two common ways, one with a pre-up command that calls the script from /etc/network/interfaces and the other From dumping the script in one of the /etc/rc*/ directories. I would say the most important thing is to learn your system inside out. You don't know where you're vulnerable until you know what server opens what port. I'm not a linux guru but I felt more vulnerable on my windows box.It's behavior varied emensly and I always wndered what was going on. Most viruses, to the best of my knowledge, are writter for Windows. My wife hates linux because of all our security pop-up but these are a good thing annd remind us to stay alert. script program surprise
I went and ran script and ran dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg to catch the failure happening. I was wondering why the size of the file was 137K when I finished so had me an examine of the typescript file. There's loads of ansi garbage in the file. How to set iceweasel as the application to open http hyper links in icedove?
Hi: I'm working on Debian lenny/sid, with the IceDove 2.0.0.4 installed on my machine. When I click a hyper link in icedove, I'd like one browser, for example, iceweasel, to open this link. I didn't find any where within icedove to set this option. Could anyone point it out? There is no response now when I click the link. I have set the iceweasel as my default browser, icedove as default mail client on my machine, and also it works fine when I click the link in QTerm. Thanks.
