Hola,

ssh -X permet d'activer X11 Forwarding

cannot connect to X server localhost:10.0

Muchas Gracias.

Intel 4965 AGN WIFI y /var/log/dmesg LLENO!!

2008-04-27 Thread Carlos Cuevas
Hola lista,

empieze a tirar..

refiere:

Apr 28 00:52:40 karlicek kernel: wlan0: CTS protection disabled

Apr 28 00:54:17 karlicek kernel: wlan0: CTS protection enabled
(BSSID=00:4f:62:00:05:4f)

OpenVPN Roadwarrior y hosts internos

2008-04-27 Thread ciracusa

Buenas lista.

ping 10.1.1.6 (extremo vpn local)

o qmail.

2008-04-27 Thread Marcos Antonio Rufino do Egito
Olá!
Conheço linux desde 98, entrei no mundo linux através do conectiva 8, ja
usei, Kurumin, slack, gentoo, ubuntu, suse, kalango, Debian BRCDD.
xmms, php, apache, kalzium.
O ambiente é Gnome, porem estou estudando o window make, mais nunca deixarei
meu pezinho.

aprende a instalar, configurar, configurar rede e usar, outro cursos fazem a

sudo e win32-loader

2008-04-27 Thread Elias Diniz
Olá,

efetuei a instalação do Debian através do win32-loader e o instalador
habilitou o sudo automaticamente.
win32-loader?

Re: Servidor Web Java JSP

2008/4/23 Felipe Rocha [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

  http://www.meudominio.com.br:8080/aplicacao
ou internamente http://ipservidor:8080/aplicacao referenciando a porta
 do

google (apache port forward glassfish) encontrei 2 links
 interessantes, são eles:

 http://blogs.steeplesoft.com/virtual-hosting-using-apache-and-glassfish/

 http://weblogs.java.net/blog/jfarcand/archive/2006/03/running_glassfi_1.html

do apache.

arquivo /etc/apache2/apache2.conf:

Location /webjsp
   Order allow,deny
   allow from all
/Location
ProxyPass /webjsp http://localhost:8080/webjsp
ProxyPassReverse /webjsp http://localhost:8080/webjsp

 I'm seeing the same thing.

This is because initramfs-tools already uses triggers, see #447611¹.
I'm not convinced that it is a very good idea to do this in Lenny

If I understand this right, your system doesn't complete freeze; acpid is
still running and responding to events. As Alex Samad already suggested, I
would try to ping your machine and to gain network access (via ssh,
because if acpid still runs, so might be sshd).

restarting a daemon, or something of that sort?

All I did (for the DX-9400F) was to unplug/plug it to get the device node
recreated. You might want to remove the static device node in
 /dev/.static/ first.

Still not working as normal user. It works for root, however, without
needing the node in /dev/.static/dev. I hate to reboot. I like the long
uptime but we had a power outage recently, so I guess that really isn't
much of an issue right now.

A reboot was not needed in my case. Let's check some permissions (this
is on my parents lenny where the scanner is installed):

$ ls -l /usr/bin/xsane # though I doubt these will be wrong
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 642500 2008-04-11 20:24 /usr/bin/xsane

This is because initramfs-tools already uses triggers, see #447611¹.
I'm not convinced that it is a very good idea to do this in Lenny

I remember from previous release notes that one step before upgrading

I do not think character or block device matters.

Upon reading /dev/null, EOF will be encounterd. So nothing is written
to output. For example try:

$ cat /dev/null here
$ ls -l here
-rw-r--r-- 1 osamu osamu 0 2008-04-27 19:03 here

As long as you use correct device, it will write output. /dev/zero or
/dev/urandom is the good file to use as such input.

$ cat /dev/zero here
(Control C pressed)
$ ls -l here
-rw-r--r-- 1 osamu osamu 105467904 2008-04-27 19:15 here

Instead of here, you use /dev/sdax etc. I will not try it now :-)

http://people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/getwiki/html/ch02.en.html#specialdevicefiles

I usually use dd to erase this kind of device file. The dummy file
creation is the same.

Hi,

I'm trying to install my scanner canon canoscan 3000F. Few years ago, I
wasn't able because there was no driver for this scanner, now, it
exists. And I've found this[1], and the scanner is in this page, so,
that confirms what I said.

- - Xsane doesn't find my scanner : no devices available.
- - # lsusb : Bus 003 Device 006: ID 04a9:2215 Canon, Inc. CanoScan

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9, product=0x2215, chip=GL660+GL646?) at
libusb:003:006
- - My /etc/sane.d/canon.conf[2]

I think I have to install the driver of the scanner, but, how to do ? I
don't find it in the CD-ROM for installing this scanner (the cd only
works under windows, of course but I read that if xsane doesn't find the
scanner, we need to look for the driver on the CD-ROM...right ?). And I
didn't find information in the sane documentation.

  Something like

any messages sent to known lists to which you are not subscribed.
The header will contain only the list’s address for subscribed
lists, and both the list address and your own email address for
unsubscribed lists. Without this header, a group reply to your
message sent to a subscribed list will be sent to both the list and
your address, resulting in two copies of the same email for you.

My version of mutt (1.5.17+20080114-1+b1) is newer than yours, so maybe
this behavior was changed recently or the older manpage is less
explicitly clear about it.

mutt will generate the Mail-Followup-To header only if I 'subscribe' to
the list. So by my policy of minimal changes it makes sense to leave it
at the default (yes) and not subscribe to any mailing list.

Interesting, I did not know that list-reply still works in this case.
I now tried it and it does, contrary to what the documentation seems to
suggest:

icewm disappeared? And you can still move windows around?

Yes. Before I kill the window I can move it around. Afterwards things
are normal.

I slightly suspected icewmtray . Isn't it supported by
icewm-experimental alone, and not by the standard icewm package?

I dunno. Icewm was installed using aptitude. Icewm loads icewmtray and
a couple of other ice packages.
I still think its got something to do with Sylpheed because as far as I
can recall I have been or am reading mail when the window appears. I
could be wrong because when it appears it is very small, icon-sized so I
sometimes don't notice it immediately.

to your situation, but when I was actively recording radio shows I
used sox directly to record the incoming stream in real-time. While
this works, and can encode to ogg or other formats on the fly, there
are some issues with it. For instance, if you have a microphone and
don't set the mixer settings right, you can end up with undesirable
background noise from the microphone mixed in to the recording, and if
the mixer settings are also not set right, you may introduce
distortion in the result because levels were set too high.

Also, this type of ogg on the fly streaming / encoding is II think)
still limited to 128 kbps rates, and you might require higher
bandwidth.

I later switched methods for this type of thing, and used mplayer to
dump the audio on the fly. But I had to wait until the program was
over before I could really make use of it (e.g., open up the resulting
file in audacity, do some basic edits and such, then burn the
resulting file to a CD).

One of the commands I used to use was:

#! /bin/sh
sox -V -c2 -r 44100 -t ossdsp -w -s /dev/dsp $1.ogg

I don't see why you'd use a different device than /dev/dsp for this.

you killed a window for which your window manager was directly
responsable, and then your session manager (icewm-session, which
previously had icewm and icewmtray as childs) generated the process
icewmbg

As the man page (for icewm-lite) says,

icewm-session will invoke all needed programs like icewmbg (background
configurator) and icewmtray. See the IceWM manual for details.

f/oss routing solution

2008-04-27 Thread Rogelio
I'm looking for an open source router solution, and someone from the list
recently recommended zebra (www.zebra.org). I haven't yet identified all my
needs, but I'm guessing that it will do all my routing needs for a, say,
class C set of IP addresses, particularly if I ever have to do anything

Anyone have any pointers before I delve in? Or possibly a recommendation

things in place, then I'll rethink everything.

Quagga is the replacement for Zebra. It is reliable. Quagga doesn't do
everything that a Cisco can do but it does everything that most people
want to do. The fact that Quagga runs in a Linux environment makes it
often more useful than a Cisco.

This is because initramfs-tools already uses triggers, see #447611¹.
I'm not convinced that it is a very good idea to do this in Lenny
packages, since the Etch versions of apt and aptitude lack support for
the new trigger states. While dpkg 1.14.18 conflicts with these
versions, a dist-upgrade from Etch to Lenny will still be done by the
 old versions.

When an old version of dpkg is installed, the code in initramfs-tools
will behave exactly as it did before trigger support was added.

I understand that. What I'm concerned about is that aptitude (or
apt-get) will upgrade itself, dpkg and initramfs-tools - and then get
confused about the unknown package states. I have no idea how severe
this would be, but the conflicts were probably added with a reason.

But probably it is as Andrei said and the release notes will tell to
upgrade aptitude first. Though 70% (?) of the users don't read the
release notes and then come and scream in the debian-user* lists.

All in all it is the usual mess of somewhat cryptically named controls,

command itself for this or alsamixer if you prefer a (curses-based)

No, I'm running Etch. I guess I'll just have to wait.

I could get ethernet assigned to eth0 by editing (rather than
deleting) the persisten-net.rules file but I'm trying to create a disk

You can match many parameters in udev rules, not just Mac addresses.
If your hardware mix doesn't permit you to have udev rules that are
generic enough, you can include a script in the image that runs once
at the first boot and do whatever setup you need.

I think Sun's JREs have problems installing under Wine versions
earlier than 0.9.61. Either wait for 0.9.61, or build wine
from git. See

also, do you have any keyboard lights flashing? If its a kernel crash the
control lock and num lock should be flashing. If not, do the control and or num
lock respond (turning on the leads).

Do you have another machine that you can use to try and log in over the network
to see if the computer is still responsive? (if it's just the user interface or
the entire system)

I use wifi and it can go through some material(wood, plasterboard) and
covers open spaces. You can also set up various parabolic antennas to
connect distant points. Powerline ethernet works by sending ethernet
over the mains in your structure. Not sure of how relaible it is, as
  I've never used it.

I have used powerline networking, and it is fairly reliable, but really
suffers in speed at times. WiFi is to be preferred, I think. Also, it
has security issues. If two powerline networks are sharing the same
circuits (power from the same transformer, such as two houses in the
same neighborhood, or separate apartments in the same building) traffic
on it must be encrypted, so no advantage there, over WiFi. It is
subject to the vagaries of a typical modern household, with all of the
 interference from motors starting, etc.

My cousin used (I think he still does but not sure) a phone line adapter. It's
good for home and possibly soho usage but I guess anything more then 2 or 3
machines will probably be too much. Its an adaptor that connects to the phone
line but I don't recall right now if it's ethernet or usb (possibly usb since I
guess it needs power). I can find out if you want.

Its called hpna, have a look at
http://www.homenethelp.com/network/phoneline.asp

I don't know if it can go across the local switchboard but I guess that it
might. It should pass to the next house though since you have your own line to
the local switchboard (building/few houses) and from there the data is combined
for going onward and band limited, I'm guessing enough to ruin the info but
can't guaranty anything.

the local phone company offered this option for a while but didn't make much
noise about it. It wasn't cheap though. About 100$ for an adaptor and 200$ for
an adsl/hpna modem.

It's simple to setup, but if you don't have thick walls/floors that stop
wireless it will be more versatile. With wpa2 encryption it should also be
secure enough. Another option if you need good network is to thread the house
with cat cables, would require a switch, but that is not too expansive.
