Kernel é o núcleo do sistema.

Your statement was that you did not think you could tell people to use
free software. Do you still think so? Why?

Do you believe “keep 100% rules/policy” is necessary for a person using
free software? What does that mean?

You have our sympathy :-) Please keep promoting use of free software,
even for people currently who are also using non-free software.

sobre backports, cujo primeiro parágrafo do site diz: "*You are running
Debian stable, because you prefer the Debian stable tree. It runs great,
there is just one problem: the software is a little bit outdated compared
to other distributions. This is where backports come in.*" (
https://backports.debian.org/ ).

versão Jessie, embora a mesma página citada diga "*Backports cannot be
tested as extensively as Debian stable, and backports are provided on an
as-is basis, with risk of incompatibilities with other components in Debian
stable. Use with care!*".

I found a better way to identify the frame buffer driver. Issue

   lspci -k|less

then search for the character string VGA. You should see something like this:

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]
RS780L [Radeon 3000]
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd RS780L [Radeon 3000]
   Kernel driver in use: radeon
   Kernel modules: radeon

This clearly identifies the frame buffer driver.

I realize that the OP has chosen a different solution. But for the sake of
others who may find this thread in a future search who wish to go the hardware
text mode route, I have added this information. The "vga" option of LILO
(also usable with GRUB2 if you use linux16 and initrd16 instead of linux and
initrd
in the menuentry bloc) provides more choices than the hardware default of 80x25.
For more information about this, see my LILO web page at

   http://www.stevesdebianstuff.org/lilo.htm#VGA

No necesitas usar

If it's still wheezy, I don't think trying packages from unstable is a
good idea. Not sure what to do, maybe you could try to find which
packages have been updated recently (cannot be too many, I guess). Maybe
then try to reinstall the old versions again to find out which is the
culprit. Then try to replace it with the jessie version.
Sorry, not an awesome concept, but since your problem apparently differs
from the one I read on the german list im kind of stuck here.

In case everybody missed it, adobe is back to supporting linux, and that
notice included a link, but when I clicked on the link, it offered me
the 4 year old flash. Since some movies do play, I declined. ISTR the
notice was on /. a day or so back.

Maybe this is related to libns3 that someone mention, but we have to get
it from unstable? On wheezy, how?

Thanks.

This really looks a lot like the issue I mentioned in my earlier post.
(original post from debian-user-german:

Have you tried the suggestion with libnss3 ?

There was also this bug report mentioned, apparently suggesting that
libnss3 is responsible:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=833719#30

Is this related to turning off certain old and insecure SSL/TLS protocols?
Those that some web site admins haven't stopped using yet?

JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin
export JAVA_HOME
export PATH

Guarda y cierra

sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/java" "java"
"/usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/java" 1
sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/javac" "javac"
"/usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/javac" 1
sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/javaws" "javaws"
"/usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/javaws" 1

sudo update-alternatives --set java /usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/java
sudo update-alternatives --set javac /usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/javac
sudo update-alternatives --set javaws /usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20/bin/javaws

Your connection is not secure

The website tried to negotiate an inadequate level of security.

www.youtube.com uses security technology that is outdated and vulnerable
to attack. An attacker could easily reveal information which you thought
to be safe. The website administrator will need to fix the server first
before you can visit the site.

I think your problem is that Debian doesn't install a Flash viewer by
default. This leads to sites that check for such things to report that
your browser doesn't have one. Read

2016-09-07 Thread Ramses
Hola a tod@s,

Saludos y gracias,

Ramses

My firefox isn't broken.

How a paypay problem relates to a YouTube problem is beyond me.

Hoi,

o= n= a= betekent in het volgende:

Package: *
Pin: release a=testing
Pin-Priority: 50

repositories).

Voorbeeld:

  Origin: Debian
  Label: Debian
  Suite: stable-updates
  Codename: jessie-updates
  Date: Sun, 04 Sep 2016 15:37:46 UTC
  Valid-Until: Sun, 11 Sep 2016 15:37:46 UTC
  Architectures: amd64 i386
  Components: main contrib
Description: Updated packages for Debian 8
  MD5Sum:
  []

bijvoorbeeld:

  o=Debian,a=stable-updates,n=jessie-updates,l=Debian,c=main
  o=Debian,a=stable-updates,n=jessie-updates,l=Debian,c=contrib

stable-updates" is "a=stable-updates" geworden.

  o=NVIDIA,l=NVIDIA CUDA,c=

En van ownCloud:

o=obs://build.opensuse.org/isv:ownCloud:desktop/xUbuntu_14.04,n=xUbuntu_14.04,l=isv:ownCloud:desktop,c=

  apt-cache policy | grep release

gevonden:

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/repository-howto/repository-howto.en.html#release

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/ch-apt-get.en.html#s-pin

That's basically because the policy wasn't fixed in time for the jessie
release (see #756729 and #771484). If you're using selinux on Debian, it
would probably be good to participate in the development of the default
policy and refpolicy packages.

setenforce 0 works, there is no need to reboot the whole system. On the
other hand, I cannot upgrade selinux policy from jessie because there is

First question: when you plugged the phone in, did you turn on USB for
file transfers? Without that I get almost exactly the same behavior you
see:

snowball:501$ jmtpfs /home/joseph/mnt
Device 0 (VID=18d1 and PID=4ee1) is a Google Inc (for LG Electronics/Samsung)
Nexus 4/5/7/10 (MTP).
Android device detected, assigning default bug flags
snowball:502$ ls mnt
/bin/ls: cannot access 'mnt': Input/output error

If I click the notification on my phone and then select "File transfers"
I get

snowball:507$ jmtpfs /home/joseph/mnt
Device 0 (VID=18d1 and PID=4ee1) is a Google Inc (for LG Electronics/Samsung)
Nexus 4/5/7/10 (MTP).
Android device detected, assigning default bug flags
snowball:508$ ls mnt
Internal storage/

which is of course what I want.

I'm not sure whether the actual error message you're getting

> Device 0 (VID=19d2 and PID=ffce) is UNKNOWN.
> Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp
> development team

is relevant; that's telling you that the vendor ID and product ID your
phone is using to identify itself aren't in libmtp's database. If I
search for them at http://www.the-sz.com/ it tells me the vendor is ZTE
(which looking at the table appears to be a chipset manufacturer, not
the manufacturer of your phone) but it can't find your device. On the
other hand, jmtpfs is seeing that your device is an Android device, so
it seems to have gotten around that somehow.

I've only been able to do it using jmtpfs (I don't have it set up to

Why I have this messages, when I'm using it?

$ jmtpfs /media/exfat

Which is not surprising if you had rebooted without that kernel

Rule of thumb: if an iptables rule works, it works quickly.

What's the network traffic level on NIC1 and NIC2? Try iftop
for an instant look, install vnstat for longer term statistics.

Is squid slow for anyone else? Is squid caching? What happens if
you turn off caching? Is squid doing DNS lookups and having
problems with that? Any errors in the squid log?

Is it slow when you use lynx, w3m, wget or curl?

You have selinux enabled, and for whatever reason, setting the
appropriate security context for the maintainer script, likely because
you haven't upgraded refpolicy to properly support dpkg_script_t or
other set up the selinux policy correctly.

Fix that, and you should be able to complete the install.

installing spark and pyspark

2016-09-07 Thread Sivaram Neelakantan

Are there any repositories with prebuilt deb packages that can be
installed in sid? I had earlier posted that I was creating a sid VM
for people to use and I'd really like to avoid any manual download,
compile, install cycle. I'd prefer everything to be done by apt-get
and I think I'm pretty much there with successful apt-get installs of
R, Python and Julia.

I'd like to get Spark too installed but am hesitant to take the plunge
with a manual compile install cycle.

Any suggestions appreciated

This is not really recommended, since your particular combination of

This might be a bug in dpkg or in one of the libraries it depends on
(libselinux1 comes to mind). What are the versions of libselinux1 and
libpcre3 on your system?

File a bug against dpkg. In the meantime, rebooting with the
"selinux=0" kernel parameter should give you a working dpkg.

repositories).

Voorbeeld:

  Origin: Debian
  Label: Debian
  Suite: stable-updates
  Codename: jessie-updates
  Date: Sun, 04 Sep 2016 15:37:46 UTC
  Valid-Until: Sun, 11 Sep 2016 15:37:46 UTC
  Architectures: amd64 i386
  Components: main contrib
Description: Updated packages for Debian 8
  MD5Sum:
  []

bijvoorbeeld:

  o=Debian,a=stable-updates,n=jessie-updates,l=Debian,c=main
  o=Debian,a=stable-updates,n=jessie-updates,l=Debian,c=contrib

stable-updates" is "a=stable-updates" geworden.

  o=NVIDIA,l=NVIDIA CUDA,c=

En van ownCloud:

o=obs://build.opensuse.org/isv:ownCloud:desktop/xUbuntu_14.04,n=xUbuntu_14.04,l=isv:ownCloud:desktop,c=

  apt-cache policy | grep release

gevonden:

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/repository-howto/repository-howto.en.html#release
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/ch-apt-get.en.html#s-pin

2016-09-07 Thread Pol Hallen

Hi all,

I've a small lan:

dsl<--->server1<--->lan1-192.168.10.0/24 (NIC1)
lan2-192.168.20.0/24 (NIC2)

I've squid proxy on lan2 (ip192.168.20.250)

iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination
192.168.20.250:8080

it works (I see squid logs on 192.168.20.250) but is very very very
[...] slow :-/

squid on 192.168.20.250 (from same network works ok)

how to audit the problem?

thanks for help!

Pol

I second that opinion.

MTP only works with a 24/28 gauge USB cable on my daughter's Android phone.
That's a cable with thick power wires.

With a standard 28/28 gauge USB cable the MTP device is detected but it
disconnects within seconds. It continues with a sequence of connect/disconnect
until Android complains that it can not find any suitable software on the host
computer to communicate with.

I suspect the OP might have had multiple issues that had to be fixed in the
right order to solve the problem. The cable being only one of them.
