wine core dump

2007-01-23 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
Hi,

I use wine in a debian/sid machine but in the last 2-3 weeks (after some
apt-get updade/upgrade) it just does not run any application it used to
run without problems. Following is its core dump:

I've already solved this problem with yaird. I've been receiving those
messages after booting the new kernel.

hd error after kernel upgrade

2005-12-19 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
Hi,

I've just upgraded my Sid box with the new linux-image-2.6.14-2-686
package but I've been receiving the following messages on /var/log/messages:

Dec 15 19:36:09 ecs kernel: hda: status error: status=0xd0 { Busy }
Dec 15 19:36:09 ecs kernel: ide: failed opcode was: unknown
Dec 15 19:36:10 ecs kernel: ide0: reset: success

Dec 15 19:41:45 ecs kernel: ide: failed opcode was: unknown
Dec 15 19:41:45 ecs kernel: ide0: reset: success

My previous kernel was kernel-image-2.6.11 package, and I've never got
this messages before.

The full message boot from both kernels are here:

Am I missing some configuration or boot parameter?
Any hint?

Thanks,

Same result:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ firefox
Error: No running window found
auto selected locale: en-US
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?

System error?:: Sucesso

mozilla-firefox error

2004-10-17 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
Hi,

I've just made a dist-upgrade from woody to sid and after that
mozilla-browser and mozilla-firefox don't work anymore.

Mozilla-browser dies without any error message, but mozilla-firefox
sends the following message to the console:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mozilla-firefox
Error: No running window found
auto selected locale: en-US
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?

System error?:: Sucesso

Am I missing some configuration?

thanks,

firewall + mail gw

2004-10-07 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
Hi,
I'm looking for suggestions about a small problem:

I've a home network connected to internet with an ADSL link, and with 4
users sharing two computers (windows machines). Each user has at least
two mail accounts in different providers.

I've already set up a linux firewall and it's running ok.

I'd like to set up some kind of email server (in the firewall machine) that
collects all the emails for each user and let them read it with webmail or
outlook from the internal network, and let me use some kind of
spam/virus filter.

What is the best combination of software that I should use to get this
solution?

Thanks,

multiple sources in sources.list

2004-04-15 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
Hi,
I have a woody installation and use the backports.org repository
extensively.
Can it cause me trouble if, after sarge comes out, I try a dist-upgrade,
and not a debian reinstall?

I don't know if it is a better solution but I'm very satisfied with the
last fluxbox available (I've downloaded the source package of version 0.1.13-1
from sid and compiled it in my woody box).
Its grouping, tabbing and keyboard configuration functions are very useful to
launch applications and organize my workspaces.
To show the status of my workspaces I use bbpager.

And the best thing is the result of top command:
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
  397 carlos 9 0 1840 1780 1400 S 0.0 0.7 0:00 fluxbox

Some time ago there was a similar question, see:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2002/debian-user-200211/msg03028.html

for one possible solution.

graphical mode in chrooted sarge

2002-12-13 Thread Carlos Alberto Pereira Gomes
I have woody/fluxbox on hda1 and sarge on hda2.
I'm used to mount /dev/hda2 and chroot it to run sarge from woody to
make updates and small tests in text mode.
Is there a way to run sarge in graphical mode from a chrooted directory?
For example while in woody/fluxbox make my sarge/gnome run without conflicts
in ctl+alt+F8?
