Security option in Evolution account setup

2008-01-17 Thread Erçin EKER
I am using Debian Unstale, I have tried to add gmail to evolution but
there is no security (in receiving/sending email) or ssl releated
options. Did i miss something to install or am i blind? :)

Have a nice day.

gnome-settings-daemon is not starting

2006-01-14 Thread Erçin EKER
Hi all,

Since last night i can not get gnome-settings-daemon start. I'm using
up-to-date Debian/sid. It only starts when i try to login with nested
gdm, everything works fine.

When i try to start the daemon in a terminal i get this error:

The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 1413 error_code 2 request_code 116 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
function.)
[1137244689,000,xklavier.c:XklStartListen/] The backend does not
require manual layout management - but it is provided by the application

How can i fix this?

Hmm, looks like archive is ok by now (there was a transition from dbus
0.50 to 0.60 and kde 3.4.3 to 3.5.0). apt-get update and dist-upgrade
again and if you can't wait until tomorrow night you can download
pending k3b packages from http://incoming.debian.org i have done it
this way :)

linux-2.6.14 initrd problem?

2005-10-28 Thread Erçin EKER
Hi all,

I have today compiled linux-2.6.14 today with kernel-package with initrd
support, but when i try to install the package i receive a post-install
failure about not suitable ramdisk generator tool.

Setting up kernel-image-2.6.14 (erc5) ...
Failed to find suitable ramdisk generation tool for kernel version
2.6.14 on running kernel 2.6.13-archck8
in /usr/sbin/mkinitrd /usr/sbin/mkinitrd.yaird /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs
dpkg: error processing kernel-image-2.6.14 (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

mkinitrd is present (initrd-tools 0.1.84-unstable), should i install
mkinitramfs or some other tool or what?

I got this problem on ubuntu (breezy) too. It was about crappy keyboard
configuration. I use turkish keyboard and the default layout for turkish
is q(werty) layout, but in X config there was an option like "xkbvariant
q" and this was the cause of my probled.

I think Andrew's problem could be something similar.

is hdparm configures hdds on start-up ? perhaps it configures yoru hard
drivers and the configuration for your fireball is wrong. may be
acoustic management is turned on and your fireball does not support this
a few week ago i have had the same problem and removing acoustic
management configuration from /etc/hdparm.conf worked for me, i hope it
will for you too.

No, that's wrong too. Now there's a race condition between the rm and
the mv. Hmm, I need more coffee.
