dist-upgrade not working...
I don't know if I screwed something up or what, but the apt-get dist-upgrade isn't working. I believe I'm currently on 2.0 (still shows 2.0 on the login screen) Is there a better way of Checking your current dist? Wanting to upgrade to slink, or possible potatoe... Run apt-get update, then apt-get -f dist-upgrade and I get: Updating package status cache...done Checking system integrity...ok The following packages have been kept back slay gzip at man-db libpng2 tetex-base manpages mh xlib6 metamail doc-debian snip snip bc ae less libjpegg6a iamerican dc perl pine396-diffs ed time tcsh 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 142 not upgraded. RE: Where is gnulibc2.1?
Well, now I see glibc1 versions. I'm using i386-pc-linux-gnulibc1 now. The i686 version is still only in gnulibc2.1, though. What's so special About 2.1 that they're so suck on itesp if it's not very stable. Thanks, I'll check TkSETI out, I'm running setiview currently. http://www.guildsoftware.com/setiview/ Eric -Original Message- From: Rick Macdonald [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, May 15, 1999 2:40 PM To: Eric Bass Cc: debian-user@lists.debian.org Subject:Re: Where is gnulibc2.1? Have they said that they aren't putting out a glibc2 version like they did for all the betas? I sent this question to them just this morning.
