USR ISDN TA
Hi I have some problems getting the USR ISDN TA to work. Under Windows it works and I get the irq and the io. When I try to insert the module using: insmod hisax.o irq=11 io=0x268 I get something similar to: init_module: device busy By the way - which type is the USR: AVM, Teles or .. Any suggestions.. Data Surf ISDN 128 PCI card.
Hi I have just ordered ISDN, here in Italy, and now I have a question concerning hardware - I've tried the Hardware HOWTO but without luck - maybe because 'Data Surf ISDN 128 PCI' istn't very precise. I tried to ask about Linux support in the shop but my italian still lacks a fair bit.. My question is if this card - which is supplied by Tele Italia - is supported by Linux. Please reply to my private mail because - presently - I'm not subscribed to the list. Problems with ftp and exporting filesystems.
Hi Today I upgraded to netstd ver. 3.07-7 at work with the result that you can't ftp to my machine and people can not mount my exported filesystems. I did a dpkg -S /etc/inetd.conf and the only thing I got was netbase: /usr/man/man5/inetd.conf.5.gz so I guess inetd uses and old version of /etc/inetd.conf from a previous version of netbase. Does anybody have a clue what I have to upgrade/downgrade/install to get a working /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services. Karsten PS: I use slink and have installed nfs-server (2.2beta37-1) and wu-ftpd-academ (2.4.2.16-12). -- *** Familien Bolding Phone: +39 0332 225090 Via Adda 31 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I-21100 VareseE-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Italien ***
Suddenly problems starting X
At work today I had problems restarting X. I tried both woth xdm (which I use as default) and startx. xdm hang and the screen blinked every now and then. Using startx I was able to diagnose the problem to somthing like unable to use/open default font fixed errno -2 Sorry for the incomplete description but now I'm home and don't have the error messages here. I checked in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts and found nothing like fixed fonts. Please reply to this address as well as debian-user. Karsten PS: Is there an easy and safe way to allow a user to use shutdown. -- *** Familien Bolding Phone: +39 0332 225090 Via Adda 31 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I-21100 VareseE-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Italien ***
