Iomega Ditto 2GB (internal).
I'm a sysadmin of a small network at my college and I'm going to buy a new tape drive in order to do the back-ups. Some friends told me that the Iomega Ditto 2GB (internal model) is a good choice. So, I'd like to know if this drive works fine under Linux. Are there any problems with it? Does the kernel recognizes it? Does anybody use it? Please, help me! ;-) Thanks in advance. Use the correct values for your hardware. I hope this work for you. Felix Almeida <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . I'm starting rpc.rquotad in my netstd_misc script (on the server), so it is not the problem... When I mount the filesystems on the clients, via NFS too, directly in the fstab (not in AMD) the quotas are shown normaly (if I didn't have started the rpc.rquotad it won't occur). Thank you anyway. :-) Felix Almeida <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Quotas & AMD
Does anybody know how I can configure my network in order to let the users know their disk quotas? The problem is that the quota command doesn't show the quota values, it only shows them when the user is logged on the server. I'm using the AMD to mount the home directories by NFS on the clients. I've read all of documents related to quotas, but with no success... Also, I've noted that when I mount the home directories by hand (without AMD), using NFS of course, the users can see their disk quotas normaly, but I really don't know why. Please help-me. :-) Thanks in advance, Felix Almeida <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . This numbers are used to identify a device in the system. Every device has its own major and minor numbers. Check if your /dev/hdd has the following major and minor numbers (ls -l): brw-rw 1 root disk 22, 64 May 8 1995 /dev/hdd ^^ ^^ major minor If not, you can use the MAKEDEV command do correct this (see the man page). > Thanks. > -- > Proudly running Debian Linux! Problem on mounting CD... (SOLVED)
Hi folks! Thank you very much! You're right about the symbolic link, it was the problem... >-( I only changed my fstab to point /dev/scd0 instead of /dev/cdrom and everything works fine now. Thank you. :-) PS: Special thanks to Riku, Andrew and Bob. Felix Almeida.
Problem on mounting CD...
Hi! I've been tried to allow the normal users in my system to mount a CD-ROM but with no success... I even put the following line in my /etc/fstab: /dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto, user, unhide 0 0 Where /dev/cdrom is a symbolic link to /dev/scd0. My /cdrom directory has the following permitions: drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Apr 11 10:23 /cdrom/ The problem is that the users can mount the CD but cannot umount it! The "mount /cdrom" works fine but "umount /cdrom" gives the error message: umount: /cdrom mount disagrees with the fstab I don't know if this can make diference, but I have CD-ROM support as a module in the kernel (sr_mod and isofs). Please, help-me! :~( Thanks, Felix Almeida.
TWAIN driver.
I would like to know if there is any twain driver available, so maybe I can use my handy scanner in my Linux. Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks, Felix Almeida <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
