Icedove and Enigmail
Hi! The latest version of enigmail isn't compatible with icedove 3.1.16. Greetings, The files are .avi and .mp4 - both are on my desktop computer which is mounted through gnome connect to server with sftp. I launch the files through nautilus by double-clicking on the icons. A screenshot of the error message is attached. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJM7+aeAAoJEDF8u+ZDBCZ5I84IAMbY4oxPzetSIZtkVsQAZN7L JfnB7IZNvF8s+0FYDIyvT1AcWnaTLGU7FHZoOmKuJLT7GcHDpecW93C16tmHu7Wr exPPtE24aBnjq5tZN+bEqEX1qgHb24m1N8owNteWyFbGgX7wDToJP46Qomggvu8f 1sz/Ql+v8We7MsLJhRRnV3a5k5tzwmpETNHNF0asnkotbqKN2sLykVPdwUIdD8Fp yeO9LonTobxKE8D5JZgrHzf/yivLy8Xsgw6iobPS9iKDK+kQddwIB+P9bNIH3HEL WP9HyIBRixWosib95mFwrOmQvUc6pG9erhbgdwCA6vwqXGYqegSyQpk6MoOtkHs= =h9gY -END PGP SIGNATURE- attachment: vlc-error.png

Did you remove ALL the packages from debian multi-media. VLC can't coexist with them. I've googled about it and found out that there is no native support for exporting mail in TB, an add-on ImportExportTools was found which would do that but TB refused to install it. I'm sick and tired of the huge memory appetite that TB shows. My machine is an older desktop with only 1 Gb of RAM and can therefore ill affafford to let one application hog 60-65% of it. VLC unable to open MRL
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi! I have installed debian and activated the debian-multimedia.org repository. I've installed the gstreamer packages ugly, bad, very bad. I then installed vlc but now when I try to play a .m3p or .avi file in vlc is always gives the error message VLC is unable to open MRL but the same file works perfectly in Totem media player. What am I missing? VLC would play fine, but Totem either wouldn't play, or in one case, could not keep time synchronization. My guess is that it's still the lack of the right codec(s), although that might be weird. An MRL is a (Multi)Media Resource Locator, and playlists use them. Are you running VLC from the command line, or from a GUI like GNOME? Give us the exact circumstances you are working under. I'm working from Gnome on a 64-bit debian unstable on my laptop. I'm accessing my desktop through the connect to server feature. I tried to copy a .mp3 and .avi to my laptop and the result was that the .mp3 playback worked fine but the .avi playback was normal for the sound but the video was only using a quarter of the vlc window. //Matthias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
