   I have som problems with PHP/FI modules, I need to recompile this, but...
   where I can found sorce code? www.vex.net/php is not working (Error 404)

 with the same problem, xinetd starts if run then manualy from the
 prompt but don't start automaticaly at boot. The problem is on the
 startup script /etc/init.d/xinetd :

I had this problem this week too...and solution is very easy:
In debian linux rpc.portmap is called only portmap, so you can edit
/etc/init.d/xinetd script and change rpc.portmap to portmap
or (i use this and its wokiing good) you can make link
/usr/sbin/rpc.portmap - /usr/sbin/portmap

StarOffice font problem

Hi

Today morning I was install StarOffice debian package. All is working
fine except
StarWriter. Writer offer me only his default font
(times,helvetica,courier ...), which is iso-8859-1 based.
I need a add iso-8859-2 based font to StarWriter. I try modify .sd.csh
(.sd.sh) script - SVFONTS enviroment,
but nothing happend. In StarCalc and other programs. I can select from
all usable fonts.

Any ideas?

  I know, this was solved here, but I can't find this in mailing archive
  I can't use function keys F1-F4, if MC is running under Xterm
  Can anybody help me? (or can anybody tell me, where in mail archive I can
  found solutions?)

 You can try options/learn Keys from pulldownmenu or use Esc number sequence.

 I know this, but learn key don't work correctly...but some weeks ago

ppp diald problem

hi

i have a problem vith diald daemon..it start correctly, set up 
slip line ant others, but..if i try connect to site out of my
internal network, nothing happend...diald NOT START ppp daemon

and second problem: i try solve this problem to running
pon/poff script . i need to allow to run this by 5 others users
i set +s to scripts zand related programs (pppd, chat...) but if 
pon is started by one users, it can't be stoped by others

any hints?

I tried install new samba package ver. 1.9.16p11-2 and this exit
with error, because this pack. is depend on libpam0 library.
Can anyone tell me, where I can found this lib?
