Re: Installing Debian Etch on hw RAID 1 on nvidia nForce 430i

2007-07-06 Thread Thias
Hi,

I've installed a Debian unstable on a Intel ICH8 RAID 1. It's a little
bit different but I think you may find this helpful:

Hope this can help you ;-)

Cheers,

Have you tried with some live CD as Knoppix, or the debian/testing
installer?
It might be interesting to see how Knoppix handles the device...

You may try a different setting in your SATA configuration, at least
during the installation. You may have something else than AHCI, and be
careful on how your sata DVD drive is plugged (master/slave/...)

Hi Peter,

Does your DVD drive is connected as IDE or SATA?
You may have it under /dev/scd0 with that kind of hardware.

Re: Copying files to a windows XP partition (mtools?)

2007-03-25 Thread Thias
Hello,

Unfortunatly, you should have a vfat partition to exchange data between
Linux and Windows using mtools. As ntfs filesystem and "write permission
under linux" are not very friendly, you may want to have a look at
ntfs-3g.

You can simply place your cursor on the first line you want to comment
out, then :

:.,.+4s/^/#/

This will comment then 4 lines from the line your cursor is on.

Former version of dep package

2000-12-04 Thread Thias

Hi everybody...

I'd like to know if it is possible to find former packages for xfree
4.0.1...
Indeed, the release -8 worked quite better for me ;o)
