I'[m a bit lazy ATM, but I'll tell you the correct line would be
include ('./application/configs/Configuracion.php');

Note the dot before the script's path. On any Linux/*NIX systems, any
path beginning with a slash (/) character is considered to be an
absolute OS path, as slash is the common notation for the root filesystem.
Windows doesn't have this kind of structure on disk. That's why on
Windows some mistakes are so easy to happen ;-)

apache vhost: remote document root

2012-01-04 Thread Victor Nitu
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi all,

I have a minor configuration problem, and I need your help.

On my home network, apache is working fine with vhosts, but I need a
way to redirect inbound traffic requiring a specific address to another
host on my LAN.
The problem seems to be quite simple: from my point of view, it's as
easy as declaring a remote document root for my vhost, but I don't know
if there exists such feature in apache web server.

The setup:

 [system1] [system2]
INTERNET - [NAT] [ ]
via PPPoE[gateway] - [ client]
 =domain1= =domain2=

- - system1 is connected directly to internet via PPPoE, and is acting
like a gateway, with NAT enabled and other network services running
- - I have two domain names (domain1,domain2), both operated by
freedns.afraid.org service which allows me to reach my machines from
the web. Update is done on ifup by inadyn on both systems
- - there I have system2 in my LAN, who needs to be accessed from
exterior via domain2, but the request reaches my system1 first, and I
need to redirect somehow the traffic to domain2

Right now, both domains point to the same IP, which is the way it
should be.
I got myself a bit tangled in this setup, so I need some guidance
please.

TIA,

Questions first.
- - Is the broken system the same architecture as the running one?

If is OK by now, you can mount the broken root partition on, let's say,

# chroot /mnt

Mainly, this is the idea for accessing a broken system, after chroot
log you in the mounted installation, you can issue command as you would
on a working system.

Of course, you are more than welcome to google the problem a bit, since

Thanks for the reply, but the thread you linked to in your email
revolves around another specific situation, somehow related but still
with different triggers.

I don't have *any* IP addresses on physical eth interfaces, only
aliases, and that's where dhcp server is a little confused. I can, of
course start the service manually, but I cannot simply presume I will
be there (or even aware of) whenever this will be needed.

Tried with a startup script that sleeps for 5 secs, then starts
/etc/init.d/isc-dhcp-server, no success. By now, this can only be done
manually.

Still digging around,

DHCP server not starting at boot, any workarounds?

2011-11-22 Thread Victor Nitu

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anybody here has a workaround for issue #605657 [1],
the DHCP server not starting when only alias interfaces have an address.

[1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=605657

This issue is hanging around for a while, and maybe it's the right time
for asking around for solutions. I googled a bit for fixes, but no luck
yet.

TIA,

Victor

IceWM is maybe the best (still friendly) choice for the system

Don't go to a lighter DE only to use the same heavy, bloated software :P
Try sticking with Midori, or even you may try Chromium, they are both
built around Webkit, but the former seems to be much lighter.

Maybe we shall build a wiki page dedicated to low-res machines, seems
like everybody has one around, and none of us are willing to throw them
away. It's a different and interesting approach to computing in such

English. You can also check the local online communities, like the

For the sake of the list, the message is all about building a box,

Though not a newcomer in Linux, he never did advanced configurations or

So, dear list, I guess all we can do is point the man do documentation,
and require the needed setup's specs, maybe a quick fix would be

to get it to the installer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank
 You.

Also is there a way to do a full install from xp parittion?

maybe you can run a virtual machine in windows, and make your
partitions there? Then you will have the option to install debian via
mount / debootstrap / chroot to install wifi driver.

1. create a virtual machine and add a virtual drive AND the physical
partition to it
2. install debian on the virtual drive
3. mount the real partition in e.g. /mnt/debian
4. install the OS using debootstrap (I have no doubt you can easily
find comprehensive guides on installing this way, be aware of the
requirements for doing this)
5. chroot to the installed system and cunstomize there, including the
bootloader (apt-get install grub grub-update)
6. reboot and test it

NOTE that this is a purely experimental and untested situation, and if
you have no backup plan against a possible failure, I *strongly*
recommend to look for another method. I guess a good documenting period
before starting anything is more than required.
I ALSO PRESUME you have full wifi access on the win system, and the
necessary means of doing a proper virtual machine suitable for the
whole setup, including a way to ensure internet access from the virtual
system.
THE RISK you are exposing this way is rendering you whole system
unusable unless you have the option to boot from a rescue disk or
similar.

Please don't hit me if it hurts you. It's up to you to dig after
further details. This is just a quick overview of the whole thing.

Cheers,
Victor

Debian on Nokia N900?

2011-10-27 Thread Victor Nitu

Hi there,

Nokia released some time ago some smartphones using a Debian-based OS,
which they called Maemo.
I was wondering if anybody on this list had any previous experience with
the N900, trying to setup a
vanilla Debian system. The arch used would be armel, and I guess the
original phone software (well,
the important pieces) can still be installed via apt-pinning from the
Maemo repositories.

The only variant I have found searching the web was a chroot-ed install
which I am sure is killing the battery
pretty fast, since it produces a reasonable amount of system load. And,
of course, I want it to run smoothly :)

I have tried the direct change in /etc/apt/sources.list, pointing to
stable, then oldstable, but the result
was a major failure both times, each try ending with downgrading udev
and some other major implications.

I guess a direct Debian install would a nice choice, and then installing
the Nokia's apps and tools directly
from the Maemo repository, but with the main package source set to some
official Debian mirror.

What I am not sure about:
- a safe and easy to restore backup method via USB data connection / USB
networking

- installation method
- whether is recommended or not to use Embedded Debian, although the
amount of storage space is more than
generous on N900 (~32GB for root / internal memory, and I also have a
16GB MicroSD card)

I guess anybody with a minimum of experience in embedded devices can
help me with this one. I never attempted

this kind of operation before.

TIA,
Victor

Keyboard and mouse problems in wheezy

2011-10-11 Thread Victor Nitu

I have some input method problems under wheezy.
First of all, keyboard dies after login (it is alive during login), and
needs to be unplugged/plugged in again. After that it works. I have a
USB keyboard, but the same problem appears when plugging in into the
PS/2 port, via adapter.
The second problem, is when I log out and in again, the mouse cursor
disappears. For that I haven't figured out yet a method to work it out.

I need at least a way to make my mouse cursor available again, when it
goes away. I can live with that, if it can be solved via console or
something. I don't do logout-login daily, so it's not a major problem.

Thanks and keep me informed of the details you need. I'll be online for
a reasonably long time from now on, so I can reply quickly.

gdm / gdm3

2011-10-10 Thread Victor Nitu
Hello all!

I just have caught an interesting observation on the gdm3 package.
I have two systems, both of them are vanilla Debian testing, installed
in different time frames. In fact, there are about 7-8 months between them.
Both have all packages up-to-date, but yesterday I noticed a small
difference when booting my laptop - the package name for the display
manager on my laptop is simply gdm, while on my desktop PC is gdm3. I
also have a LMDE installation at home, on another machine, which also
have gdm3.
Why is this happening? Are there any other packages in this situation,
and I should be aware of them? I mean, a lot of trouble can happen if
some scripts won't work because of the name of the packages / binary
files; I was transferring them freely between the two systems (by now).
Have you experienced anything similar? I must admit I haven't search the
bts (yet), because besides this peculiar gdm problem, I also want to
know if there are more packages like this.

Could be...and seemingly not a Google problem.
I am running Sid, updated. This morning I tried
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ud_wGMXRnQ (the url above)
and it loads and plays. When I dropped the 's', I get the black
screen of death both on Firefox 5.0 and Google-chrome.

Same for me (as I mentioned in an earlier post)--well, except that I am
running:

Debian 5.0 (the stable release)
KDE 3.5
Iceweasel 3.0.6
(and am not running adblock)

And, I rarely update the system (software wise) (I know). I
occasionally install an additional package.

This has only
started lately, and the same URL's both work in Ubuntu Maverick and
Natty with both Chrome and Firefox 5.0.

The problem started for me between 2 and 3 days ago. I don't really
remember--at first I figured it was a transient problem that would go
away, so I ignored it.

Sane here as I recall.

Seems to be it's a Sid
problem, unless we hear from other Sid users who don't have the
problem.

It is apparently not limited to just Sid as I'm running 5.0

It's beginning to look like an Adobe flash problem. I'll snoop
around the Adobe site.

I paste here the response I gave on the other youtube flashplayer issue.

If all you want to do is use youtube, and not fix the issue, I cannot
see *any*

reason for not using the html5 version of the player.

http://youtube.com/html5 is the url, type and enjoy!
By now, any decent browser knows how to handle html5!

Hello

experiencing just some weird problem i am running my desktop system
with wheezy and whilst sound works fine for ryhtmbox and mplayer as soon
as i try to look a video on youtube et al. the video plays back just
fine, but with no sound. can't seem to get anything like an error
message, maybe looking in the wrong directions, thought it was firefox
(iceweasel) but i have exactly the same problem under chrome, so its the
flash plugin (non-free)

so i have to download the video with get_flash_videos and play it with
mplayer to have the sound

so maybe i am missing some obvious thing, but i don't see where... oh
and trying to look up the settings of the flashplayer, the adobe site
speaks of some locally installed utility to tweak the player i can't
find

Count yourself lucky :) Some of us see the black screen of death
instead of the video. Yet videos on sites other than Youtube are not
affected.
