"timedatectl" is a good high-level tool for querying and adjusting time

Universal time: ke 2024-03-06 05:33:00 UTC

 Time zone: Europe/Helsinki (EET, +0200)
 System clock synchronized: yes
   NTP service: active
   RTC in local TZ: no

See "timedatectl -h" or manual page for more info.

Thank Likonen, timedatectl is useful, ntp isn't installed

System clock synchronized: no NTP service: n/a RTC in local TZ: no

perhaps it's because i didn't install a set of standard tools during

i install bookworm for amd64, not from live CD

i often run buster for i386 for days, no problem

Try -debug option to increase logging (see the man page for details).

-debug isn't option of journalctl

i can't reproduce my problem,  i don't expect solution, Thanks anyway!

Very strange: if i use my favorite search engine, i find dozens of
places, describing a solution. And especially nowadays, where AI
specializes on giving useful hints and explanations to remedy computer
configuration problems, i am wondering as to why you keep asking here?

I have neither lxde nor lightdm, so cannot even verify those solutions,
but you should ... beginning with perhaps:

if you insist on doing research including google and reading manual

after all linux/debian is mature product, problem is usually with user,
not with linux

you can ask sellers if their wifi adapters are linux compatible

at my local market, only a few products have label "linux compatible",
nearly all support Windows from win7 to win10

use google search, keyword="linux wifi adapter" to find more info

freebsd handbook instruct users to create bootable disk by dd with .img
file

it seems that some files are in two formats: .iso and .img:

http://ftp.funet.fi/pub/unix/FreeBSD/releases/i386/i386/ISO-IMAGES/13.2/

it implies that some users can create bootable disk only with .img (not
.iso) files

my energy is limited, i give up

PS: my real problem is with some win7 iso file (not freebsd file), i
can't boot it

run sync to be safe

does this method work for other iso file?

i can't boot it created this way. what's wrong with it? Thanks!

does your Thunderbird for deb11 often become unresponsive?

2023-03-02 Thread hlyg
at first i suspect Thunderbird(TB) try to access some sites that are
blocked in china

i disable show Start Page when it launches

i disable check email automatically for each account

but it becomes unresponsive when i File->New->Message

i really don't know cause of unresponsiveness

PS: even if blocked sites cause trouble, it's bug of TB, it shall
timeout after it can't access sites for some time
