tdfx in 2.4.5 Kernel - Where?
Hi, can anyone please tell me where tdfx is in the 2.4.5 Kernel configuration programs, like xconfig and menuconfig? I looked in Character Devices as told, but it's not there! .. Thx, Deven Gallo

2.4.5 kernel
Hello, i tried to put the 2.4.5 kernel on my debian 2.2r3. Here is what i've done : make config make make bzImage then copy the arch/i386/boot/bzImage to my root directory. I configured lilo etc etc. But when i request to start on the new kernel, the PC stucks after drawing a few dots. I tried a few configuration (even the Oh, i sat on my return key...) but it always stucks. Could someone tells me what i've done wrong??? Thanks a lot!!! Perceval.
Re: 2.4.5 kernel
What is the vga setting in your lilo.conf file? I had something similar happen to me, and all it was was that I had vga=788 in the .conf file, but forgot to enable the framebuffer options in the kernel. It wasn't actually hanging, it just wasn't able to output anything to the screen. -- Steve ANICHINI Perceval wrote: Hello, i tried to put the 2.4.5 kernel on my debian 2.2r3. Re: 2.4.5 kernel
Hi, I usually do how it is explaned in the KERNEL-HOWTO. It`s make config (I use xconfig) make dep make clean make bzImage make modules make modules_install and it works for me. I recomend the KERNEL-HOWTO reading. It`s very good. HTH, Rafael Sasaki On Wed, Jul 25, 2001 at 08:49:38PM +, ANICHINI Perceval wrote: Hello, i tried to put the 2.4.5 kernel on my debian 2.2r3. isa-pnp, modem the 2.4.5 kernel
Can anyone help? I have a 3Com US Robotics 56K Voice Fax Internal modem... It worked great with isapnp and the 2.2.18 kernel. As soon as I upgraded my system to unstable and the 2.4.5 kernel, it won't work anymore. The isa-pnp.o kernel module detects the modem but upon 'cat /proc/isapnp' it tells me that the device is not active and spews out severial configuration options... It apparently doesn't set up the card properly. Does anyone know how to use isa-pnp to get the modem configured properly? one side point, '/dev/ttyS4' echos back and ATDT so I think the card may be bound to that serial port... but if that is the case, why is it that every time I try to use that port I get the error message that the ioctl is invalid? Invalid ioctl... what is that! Thanks Parrish Myers = --- Academia is a little like child | Parrish M. Re: isa-pnp, modem the 2.4.5 kernel
I admit this solution is annoying and is not the way to go...but temprarily you could use the old isa-pnp tools. Just do pnpdump -c | isapnp Did you possibly forget to compile in serial port stuff?
