me too; me neither.

Do you or anyone else know of a list or online forum where one can discuss
Alpine?

So I see from subsequent discussion this is not the right URL. You
didn't notice and neither did I, being misled by the affiliation with
the U of Washington (and, of course, my inattentiveness).

I have also used Alpine, and formerly Pine since much time. Can't
reconstruct the history but I seem to recall VAX, I think one used
Pine. I couldn't leave it 'behind'.

That helps. I simply subscribed and see.

Hmm, AFAICT the Alpine(linux) codename was already mentioned
in this post from 23 August 2005:

  https://sourceforge.net/p/leaf/mailman/message/12731159/

whereas for Alpine(email), a post from 1 November 2006:

https://web.archive.org/web/20070116190434/http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/pipermail/pine-info/2006-November/055008.html

refers to a UW web page stating that development of Alpine
started in "late 2005", which I would place post-August.

Cheers,
David.

I believe the question was about Alpine the mail user agent, not
Alpine Linux the operating system.

My apology - I failed to see the reference to alpine linux, and, due to
scurrilous actions, the first result in searching, using duckduckgo, on
the combination of

alpine email application mailing list
is the URL for the disreputable operating system above.

I have used alpine, and, before alpine, its predecessor, pine, for about
30 years.

I know nothing of alpine linux.

It is unfortunate and shameful, that the name of the alpine email
application, has been used for something completely different.

It is like someone using the name Debianporn.

The correct URL for the alpine email application mailing list, is
https://mailman12.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/alpine-info
