I'm trying to install Debian 2.0 on a model 35 PS/2, using the lowmem option. The boot messages indicate the "standard" ide0 interface is found (0x1f0, irq 14), but the system never is able to read the drive (message "status=0xff", times out).
I've tried two different drives, both of which I know to be good. Also tried passing the suggested parameters for ide and hda at boot time. Since it's an AT bus, MCA is not an issue. Has anyone had any luck with this machine, or does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to put this idle hardware to work. Any help appreciated. Curt Daugaard [EMAIL PROTECTED]
