Wrong image, unless your laptop has an Itanium[1] processor ;)
You probably want the amd64 image instead.

Install on HP Elitebook 8460p

2013-12-20 Thread Kostadin Slavkov
Hello,
I'm trying to install debian test on my laptop HP Elitebook 8460p. When I chose
booting from DVD or USB, where I wrote debian test DVD, it restart laptop. I'm
switched off UEFI and I'm using standard BIOS boot.

Previously I successfully installed openSUSE, fedora and arch, but decide to
switch to my first deb based distribution.

I am not sure why can not boot from install media. I use iso-dvd from next link
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/ia64/iso-dvd/
And verified check sum.

Thank you,
Best regards, Kostadin Slavkov
