Hi I am still uncertain about my kernel-problem. I run the slink from the internet floppies together with the CD of the O'Reilly debian book. My machine is a pII 400mhz, 128mb. Hello To me it sounds like faulty hardware - do you get the same fault at the same time every time? I see you're inserting the cdrom module... is it always the cdrom module that causes this? Try removing the line cdrom from /etc/modules.conf - you'll need to boot off a rescue disk or use lilo in single user mode ( LILO: linux single) when booting. Someone reported on having the same messages. Yes, the CD drive works perfectly under Windoze, using it under debian ain't a problem either?!
