I've noticed that problem with Gmail for a while. It hasn't been fixed
and probably won't ever get fixed. What are the top free-of-charge
 options?

I have long liked Lavabit - standards based, and it (usually) Just
Works. You don't get the multiple GB of storage, nor many of the bells
and whistles, but for basic POP and SMTP email where you keep your mail
locally, I'm very happy with them.

My repetition

2012-11-10 Thread Lisi Reisz
I apologise to all of you for my repeated attempts to send my last email about
compiling a kernel. It was not getting though to me, so I thought that it
wasn't getting through, period.

When the fourth one didn't appear to go through, I checked the archives, as I
ought to have done in the first place.

I apologise profusely and humbly.

If you stop using gmail, you won't have that problem!

I don't send via Gmail for that very reason! No, they had got caught in my
spam trap on Gmail. (I went looking when the archives agreed with me that my
postings had been sent.)

PEBKAC. :-(

When I delete an email that I send to the list too quickly, I receive
it back from the list server.
