The new one (the one in woody or sid) follows current policy. What version of xchat-common do you have? Make sure you are using the same version of both. Thanks. I installed xchat-common. When I did my install, I went to packages.debian.org and downloaded the gnucash deb. Then I tried dpkg -i ..., and went back and downloaded everything dpkg said was missing. Set up /etc/apt/preferences like dman explains: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2001/debian-user-200112/msg01571.html Then use the -s option like he suggests in the post. I used apt-get to install all the build-depends. Then I ran the source command to compile the package. If it errored out on a build depend because of versioning I installed that package from unstable. Took a few tries and a little time on my dialup connection but it worked. gnucash 1.6.4 is very nice. I'm building a new woody system. I just tried to add GnuCash using dselect, but searching for cash in dselect did not turn up anything. I found the same problem the other day too. It has some conflict with libguileXX. Not sure what's happening with it though (being rebuilt against new lib?).
