Oops!  that's for Ubuntu and fedora.  I haven't yet located Debian
packages (although I suspect Ubuntu package would work).
The link /does/ have source code, though, so you may compile it
yourself if you are so inclined.

Debian by default as far as I recall doens't come with sudo set up, whereas
Ubuntu uses it instead of a root account. Hence the error in the Ubuntu
package.

I've not tried Dropbox on Debian (use it for server only), but under Ubuntu
9.04 it works fine (as long as you initially run it with sudo to let it set
up what it needs).

as root you can add your username to /etc/sudoers to enable sudo commands
or you can try su
