Slight correction: Win 3.x/Win9x runs on top of DOS. Neither NT nor Win2K is written on top of DOS. Even tho the command prompt LOOKS like 16-bit DOS, it's not. They're both 32-bit OSes, from the ground up, with backward 16-bit compatability. -- *-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-*-^-* Michael Leone mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP Fingerprint: 0AA8 DC47 CB63 AE3F C739 6BF9 9AB4 1EF6 5AA5 BCDF PGP Key ID: 0x5AA5BCDF --

Those were that days of CP/M, before Gates bought/stole it and named it dos. yea the Kaypro II ran CP/M (the 64K was the maximum addressable) I do have a router running on a 386sx w/12 Meg of Ram but that is old hat to anyone who has seen the Linux Router Project. unfortunately running bind, slapd, ssh, nfsd, and masquerading a (small) LAN over a aDSL line is a little (rather?) stressful for the poor 486DX-33 (with 16MB ram, and 2 ISA NE2K NICs). Especially when I have to use apt on it. Jim

Those were that days of CP/M, before Gates bought/stole it and named it dos. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Gates never bought/stole CP/M. MS-DOS v1 was NOT CP/M; it was a separate product. I do have a router running on a 386sx w/12 Meg of Ram but that is old hat to anyone who has seen the Linux Router Project.
