and then sound should work for you.

Thanks. I try the command and I get something like: couldn't find the
kernel version the module was compiled for and insmod
/lib/modules/2.2.18/misc/ac97.o failed.

I'm using a recompiled 2.2.18 kernel. However, I can't find an AC97
module/option in this kernel. Any ideas?
