Debate on the best strategy for an OOM killer will go on forever :)

Thanks.
  i'll try move to a newer kernel to solve this issue.

OOM = out of memory.

The OOM killer is responsible for killing processes when the system is
running out of virtual memory (so the system itself will "stay alive").

suboptimal, with respect to keeping damage to the end user to a

Hi Nikita,
Thanks for the hint, but what is an OOM Killer?

Any ideas of what can be the cause?

There was an OOM Killer - related bug in 2.6.10, I also faced it some time
ago. Now running 2.6.11 with uptime about 40 days and high load, no
problems.

So you should probably upgrade your kernel.
