Hey, Balsa is great, in that it uses Unix mbox, and you can use procmail with it. It shouldn't be orphaned, if it's tue, what a shame! I mean the debian package seems to be not taken care of, not balsa itself. there are quite a few bug (lot of them 1+ year old), it's not even installable (in unstable) - that's an 2+ months old bug (depends on non-existing library): balsa: Depends: libltdl0 but it is not installable erik

Re: balsa: orphaned?
Yes balsa is a great program and should not be orphaned and if nobody is interesting in packaging it, I would certainly ITP it soon. By the way, I build on a nearly daily bases debian package from cvs. You can find my packages at the following url : http://ufies.org/~christophe Christophe Le jeu, 26 jui 2001 10:58:08, Erik Steffl a écrit : what's up with balsa? there's a huge number of old bugs (year or two old) including the ne that makes it uninstallable (+2 month days): Grave functionality bugs - outstanding (A list of all such bugs used to be available). #98110: balsa: depends on libltdl0, which has been removed Package: balsa; Severity: grave; Reported by: Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]; 66 days old. anybody knows what's going on? Yes balsa is a great program and should not be orphaned and if nobody is interesting in packaging it, I would certainly ITP it soon. Certainly doesn't look like it's been abandoned. This page, http://www.balsa.net/main.html, shows an update on the 13th of this month. It reads: 2001-07-13 - development balsa 1.1.7 released. This is most likely last 1.1.x development release, we intend to start soon preparation for 1.2.0 release. Several improvements in IMAP folder handling has been done, new command line options have been added and other UI improvements have been implemented. Regards Hall
Re: balsa: orphaned?
I believe that Erik said Orphaned from a packaging point of view. Balsa is in fact in a high development rate. It's a great mail client.
