You should receive a confirmation to click on that you really do want to

Good morning ! I have tried the Debian buster 10 and it's okay though I
have to do some research about how to configure it.

Thank you  for your help when answering our questions but not I'd like to
emphasize that I don't want to receive emails regarding Debian. I will just
watch it in YouTube to solve some issues.

From your headers up there yonder:

Well, I've been posting in exactly same manner for the totality of my
presence here (through the gmane news to mail gateway--or mail to news
gateway--or whatever the hell it is or was).

But if this post gets through that demonstrates that I never really
needed that particular service in the first place (or that a cat

There is no MX, A or record for m.gmane.org, so it is not possible
to send you mail to address gldu-debian-use...@m.gmane.org and that is
why the mail is rejected.

SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<debian-user@lists.debian.org>

2018-02-18 Thread Curt Saltzman

The last two messages I sent through gmane.org have bounced back to me.

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

   debian-user@lists.debian.org
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT
TO:<debian-user@lists.debian.org>:
 host bendel.debian.org [82.195.75.100]: 554 5.1.8
<gldu-debian-use...@m.gmane.org>:
Sender address rejected: Domain not found

Domain not found. This is quite sudden; it worked, now it ain't working.
'gmane.org' is
the domain that is not currently being found? This all seems outside of my
purview (beyond
abandoning gmane, I suppose).

even multicasting is possible I think

Yes. This is possible.

Thanks. I had three kernels on the desktop and I removed 2.6.18-4. The
upgrade ran without any trouble. However, the Thinkpad only has 2.6.18-5and
2.6.18-6, so I'll have to remove something else.

/lib is full. /lib has to be on your / partition (even if /usr and /var
are separate). If /var is not separate, you have more places to look.

If everything is separate, you may have more kernels installed than you
need. Look in /lib/modules and see how many directories (one for each
kernel) you have. I only keep 2 (current, and the last version that
 worked).

If you're using the kernel meta-package for your arch, as new versions
come out, it doesn't remove old versions, so they can pile up. You have
to find the kernel version you want to remove and do so with your
 package manager (e.g. aptitude).

 Good luck.

 Doug.

well, you normally only need the linux-headers package corresponding to
the linux-image package you have installed. You can remove the rest.
The linux-headers-*all* package simply exists to pull in all the other
header packages. You'll need to remove that as well, to remove any
other header package.

I removed that, then I had to install the linux-headers-2.6.18-6 package. I'm

Looks like your disk is out of space..
maybe try a 'aptitude autoclean' to remove old deb files and free up

You're out of drive space on the /var partition.

Run df -h to see how much Disk space is Free on your various
partitions; here's what my output looks like; your's will look different:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/westk: df -h
FilesystemSize Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda2 183M 145M 29M 84% /

Your /var partition is likely to be on your / partition, so if you don't

column for high numbers, like 99 or 100%.

There's a good chance that old .debs from older upgrades is eating a lot
of space.

aptitude autoclean will delete any old .debs (in the standard location
- /var/cache/apt/archives) that are no longer suitable for installing on
your system.

aptitude clean will delete all .debs (in the standard location).

If one of those commands doesn't free up enough space to do what you
need, you'll have to be more aggressive in freeing up some space.

I am not sure what this means (my hlinux books are not available) nor
do I know what to do about this.

You're out of drive space on the /var partition.

Correction: it looks like it's your /lib partition (which is probably on
the / partition, which may also hold the /var partition, so the *clean
commands still may work; df -h should point you in the right direction).

You have
to find the kernel version you want to remove and do so with your
package manager (e.g. aptitude).

Good luck.

Doug.

I used the Relpy to List menu selection, didn't work. Now let me try
Ctrl-L. If the list got this, it worked.

Certainly the grammar needs to be cleaned up a lot. :)

Hi,

What basically happened was that a bug in the program that handles
bounces messages meant that the number of bounces was calculated
incorrectly for some users, and this led to some addresses being
wrongly removed from the list. This is what happened in your case.

When exactly did you receive this message? If it was over 4 hours
ago, then that is most probably what happened. If it was in the
last 4 hours, please let me know, as it means we have another
problem =-).

Il y a donc eu un bug dans le script de gestion des listes. Dans mon cas,
c'était bien il y a plus de 4 heures. Peut-être en est-il aussi de même pour la
personne de cette liste...

There was a bug in reaper.pl which removes bouncing email addresses.

That should have been just 1, which as it was under that period's
threshold would not have resulted in an unsubscription.

I've also fixed up the message a little so it makes more sense.

If the bounce handler could reliably tell that something was spam, we
wouldn't be using it as a bounce handler but as a spam checker. ;-)

You shouldn't be bounced from debian-users now unless you reach the
threshold (for real this time).

It's up to 0.17 now ;-)

2001-06-08 Thread bernd b

Hi,

I am having a problem with a Primary/DOS partition.
(Debian 2.2r3)
With cfdisk this partition was made. Both cfdisk and MSDOS fdisk report
that this partition is WINDOWS FAT32 and 13.9 Gb large.
However dir c: as well as format only see 5.66 Gb and after formatting the
partition is only 5.66 Gb. The partition tables still state it is 13.9 Gb.

How can i get MSDOS to format all the 13.9 Gb?

I hope someone knows how to solve this problem.
I did remove the partition under fdisk (MSDOS) and made a new one. This
did not work (DEbian cfdisk was unable to read the partition table, and
2 Gb still were 'lost')

Regards,
Bernd
