Which is interesting, because at the site where I'm co-located,
everybody else runs FreeBSD or Solaris x86 (or did a year or so ago when
we moved in there).

Just happened to remember:
www.artbell.com runs Linux as well. As a matter of fact, Keith
Rowland, who maintains the site, appears rather proud of that fact.
You can read about the system specifics at:

If you have RealPlayer, drop this into Open Location in the File menu.
It's the keynotes speech for the LinuxWorld expo:

pnm://audio.cnet.com/1999/03/02/lwce02.ra/28_8.36

Apparently, Oracle have a Linux box on 1 in 10 of their developers.
Listen for yourself. Web applications are going to be big, it seems.

This link is Linus' speech, and describes future development of Linux:

pnm://audio.cnet.com/1999/03/02/lwce03.ra/28_8.36

Hope this helps, enjoy!

Typically we get between 300,000 and 500,000 hits per day total. This
can spike (significantly) if one of the sites is mentioned on slashdot.
We also get a big spike when the new issue of linuxgazette is posted.

For real.com, here is what once wrote in a mailinglist:

Version: Roxen Challenger/1.2.34
   Booted on: Sat Nov 28 10:46:31 1998

   Received data: 31.78 GB

This, on a run-of-the-mill PC running Linux 2.0.36
We've run these boxes up to 120 hits/second.

Typical download server...

The important thing is how much overall traffic goes through linux.
