You can try XF86Setup to reconfigure your X

I`m using one of these too. I`m running with the ne2k-pci module, becouse
it`s ne2000 compatible. It`s working fine.
 
 3) My modem is a 'Motorola SM56 PCI speakphone Modem
 #2' and was not detected.

Did you install xserver-svga?

It didn't install automatically on my potato installation and solved a 
similar problem.

search /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Covfigure.help for
'RealTek 8029' to find which module it requires
 
 3) My modem is a 'Motorola SM56 PCI speakphone Modem
 #2' and was not detected.
