Install the ath3k firmware.  Read the installation manual for the
details.

The installer comes with a manual. 'Firmware' is one of its topics.

   I recently installed Jessie on a laptop.  I was not
asked to configure access to a wireless network.  I
have noticed that, when the machine is started, there
is a message, approximately:

unable to load firmware ath3k

   The machine, when running windows, is able to gain
access to a LAN.
