Scott, To get around this problem do you think this is possible? Add a lot of negative weight to the message that has a recipient as postmaster so it won't get bounced. Then create a test that will route the message back to the postmaster's account? This would then route the message to the postmaster and not the other recipients? I am only pursing this because some really offensive email has been getting through where they are including the postmaster@ address in the mail. Is it possible to accomplish something like that? How about a test to check if the e-mail address in the subject is the same as the person it was sent to? Scott, We have achieved the desired behavior with that setup. I sent a test message tripping off one of the filters and the mail was delivered to the postmaster and was not delivered to the other recipients. Hello, All, This sounds very similiar to the request that I made when I first started using Declude.JunkMail. Unfortunately I don't think these documents exist. But I could be wrong. Once our management agrees to buy JunkMail Pro for us I plan on writing up something along these lines. If I had one complaint about Declude JunkMail that would probably be the only one. The program itself is awesome. Scott's technical support is outstanding. But the current documentation seems too conversational in tone. Now that tone is a good way for some people to learn. But some people (like Adrian, Joseph, myself and others, I'm guessing) need documentation which reads as more of a reference guide. I can't think of any other way to describe it. (Un)fortunately I've made it past the hump in the learning curve where something like this seems absolutely necessary but I still could many situations where it would be beneficial. The manual should list all the variables (except ones that have been added since the latest beta). I'll see if we can add examples to the manual. 2. A complete list of all the tests available in Declude junk mail with a detailed description of their use? That's impossible, unfortunately, as Declude JunkMail can use spam tests that haven't even been created yet. For DNS-based tests, http://www.declude.com/junkmail/support/ip4r.htm has the list of them all (however, most people will use just the ones that are already defined in Declude JunkMail). When Declude JunkMail was first started, there were really just 2 tests (RBL and ORBS), so there wasn't any need to worry about documenting test types. You could just look in the global.cfg file to see what tests were available. The online docs and the mailing list archives tends to be a very good reference, however since the program is so flexible, even Scott doesn't know it's full potential. There are often threads where people have managed to come up with some new and unforseen way of using Declude. Now, that being said, maybe a nice How-To site where users can post their little tricks and tips would be very helpful. Generally speaking, the only things not listed in the online manual are beta features, and they are listed in the revision history and very well discussed in the archives. It constantly occurs to me, as it has to many others who have mentioned this previously, that what we really need is a FAQ compilation that covers customization and best-practices for various situations and integration of the add-on tools and who knows what else. We've got a locked down public Imail server where anyone can register for a free email, but all users have to authenticate before relaying mail. We've also got Declude with HiJack in order to stop spammers from using our system But somehow we've got registered users sending hundreds of messages through us and bypassing HiJack. Why isn't the email being trapped by HiJack? The first thing to do is make sure that Declude Hijack is running (you can type \IMail\Declude -diag, *without* making any changes, and you should see a line Declude Hijack Status: Registered). Next, you would want to check your \IMail\Declude\hijack.cfg file to make sure that the settings are reasonable (the default settings are RELAYTHRESHOLD1 10 20 and RELAYTHRESHOLD230 80, which allow up to 80 E-mails to be sent within 30 minutes). I checked the W log files and it looks like they are coming in through web messaging (god knows how they are sending that much email through web messaging) under several IP's ranging from Nigeria to Israel. I blocked those IP's within Imail Control Access. Ah, that explains what is going on. That's the first time I've seen serious spammers try to send E-mail through web messaging. How can I make Hijack work with webmessaging? It is possible to do this, by having the declude.exe file act as the smtp32.exe file, so that Declude can intercept the web messaging E-mail. This is done by renaming the smtp32.exe file to ipsmtp.exe, renaming the declude.exe file to smtp32.exe, using a DAISYCHAIN ipsmtp.exe line in the hijack.cfg file. Not besides that your listed yourself in spamcop and that you need to take a look at the logs to see what's in them and/or show them to us so we can see what is failing. I see a couple of things right of. 1) no reverse DNS for 208.253.112.168 which is your sending ip for you mailserver. 2) your subnet is listed with numerous spam lists. The reverse dns is because of a nat'ing scheme we have behind two firewalls and a load director (posts in the past have already described our config). The freaking SpamCop is because I apparently have Spammers sending an incredible amount of spam through our web messaging (i.e. bypassing hijack and why I'm posting it as an issue). Try implementing the DAISYCHAIN function as follows: (a) COPY SMTP32.EXE to SMTP32.EXB (this step just for backup) (b) RENAME SMTP32.EXE to IPSMTP32.EXE (c) COPY DECLUDE.EXE to SMTP32.EXE (d) Add the DAISYCHAIN directive as described earlier In other words, do *not* make the Registry change, nor rename DECLUDE.EXE.
