 David,

Thanks for the response but I only understand part of your answer.

An expired license agreement is not equal to an expired license to run
the
  software.

I know when I have an expired license agreement but when does my license
to
 run the software expire?

An expired license agreement is not equal to an expired license to run

2005-12-28 Thread Evans Martin
While we are on the subject of licensing ...

I have JunkMail Pro on which I maintain a current service contract and keep
the version as current as I feel comfortable doing. I also have Declude
Virus that works perfectly well in whatever version is installed. I haven't
updated it in forever.

When I purchased my JunkMail service contract, I was informed a few days
later that I would also be required to purchase a Declude Virus contract if
I wanted to maintain my JunkMail service contract. Barry was nice enough to
make an exception this year but didn't sound like he was eager to continue
this practice.

Do I have to purchase service contracts on both products if I only care
about upgrades on one? Will I be forced to purchase 2 contracts when my
current one expires, etc.

Thanks,
Evans Martin

[Declude.JunkMail] DSPAM with Declude?

2005-12-28 Thread Samuel J Stanaitis
Good Morning, Folks

I've had a recent onslaught of emails completely blowing past Declude.
They're the typical winky improvement pill ads, coming from random sources,
random names, random email addresses. First line of the email is a random
URL, followed by cryptic spellings of the various winky pills. I've fed
dozens to SpamAssassin with no luck.

I've heard good reviews of DSPAM (dspam.nuclearelephant.com) and would like
to incorporate it into Declude. Has anyone done this yet? I searched the
archives and have had no luck.

Any tips?

Thanks,
Sam

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] DSPAM with Declude?

2005-12-28 Thread Darin Cox
Looks interesting, Sam. Looking through the documentation, it seems that it
would not directly integrate with Declude, but could be used as a Gateway
that only tags the messages, so you could have a Declude filter that looks
for the tag and weights appropriately.

Note that it is *nix only at this point, so it means setting up a separate
box from IMail. Might work well in conjunction with a PostFix or IMGate
gateway.

Something to think about...

Darin.

[Declude.JunkMail] OT: IMail vs. Merak

2005-12-28 Thread Dan Geiser

Hello, All,
We are re-architecting our e-mail hosting and are going to be upgrading from
IMail 6.06 to a new e-mail platform. We are familiar with IMail can do so
we are currently evaluating Merak e-mail server to see what else is out

We already know that Merak is going to be a more expensive upgrade then

Anything else that made the decision to stay with IMail easier for you?

[Declude.JunkMail] OT - SMTP Gateway

2005-12-28 Thread Brian

Hi Everyone,

Some of you folks know me; we published a Declude add-in for awhile and also
publish
the MXRate IP4R system that many of you currently use.

We are looking for a few beta testers for our SMTP Gateway. It does a lot of
cool
stuff and runs as a Windows service. It has been a part of our Alligate product
for
over 3 years, but we are going to make the SMTP Gateway available separately as
a
stand alone product.

Rather than list everything it does here, I put together a little info page at:

http://www.alligate.com/gwbeta.htm

This is not a beta in the traditional sense. The SMTP gateway is in production
usage
by many ISPs and has been for over 3 years. What we would like to do is uncover
any
issues that may arise from using it in a standalone mode.

One interesting thing is that it was designed specifically for use with an
external
spam filtering program. We use a file pair system very similar to Imail's Q
and D
files and they can be initially saved to a directory for third party
processing, then
moved to our Queue for delivery.

I am hoping that if we can generate some interest from the Declude community, we
might see some interest by Barry in providing direct Declude support for our
gateway.
This would make Declude 100% mail server neutral, and it could be used with any
mail
server on any platform. It also supports routing to multiple mail servers, so
it can
easily be used in mixed environments. You would no longer be limited to Imail or
Smartermail.

We are currently finishing the GUI to control the gateway and then it will be
ready
for release to beta users. The target date is Jan 10, 2006.

Please take a look at the info page above and if there is any interest, please
feel
free to contact me directly.

Thanks

Brian Milburn

Title: Message

Richard,

Your proxy's IP address is listed in both DSBL and SORBS as of August,
2004. SORBS is a pain to deal with generally, and DSBL shows no
attempts at removal, though their removal processes are overly strict.

Anyway, it would seem possible that your proxy isn't sufficiently
secured and it might be abused. It could also be a multi-hop situation
where a client behind the proxy is responsible for the abuse. Of
course it is also possible that Scott's programming is misbehaving by
tagging you. Prudence would suggest that you double check your proxy's
settings, make sure it is fully patched, and search it's logs for any
anomalies. It would also make sense to try delisting this IP from
SORBS and DSBL as these listings are permanent and could come back to
haunt you even if they aren't now. When you have done these, you could
double check dnsstuff.com and see if they are still blocking you and
send Scott a message if he is. He might also be able to help identify
how his system is detecting the abuse just in case you don't find a
hole.

Matt
