[Declude.JunkMail] Country Code

2006-12-05 Thread scott_powner
Ok - an oldie but a goodie:

I was trying to display the actual country code in the header. I have the
%countrychain% displaying but I seem to be missing a few country codes in my
filter so I was trying to find out what codes the filter uses. Any ideas on
how to display them?

Thank you,

[Declude.JunkMail] Smartermail changing reply-to addresses

2006-05-03 Thread scott_powner

If you are using Smartermail can you add any additional
information on this problem? Originally they thought it was a Declude
problem but we uninstalled Declude and still have the same problem.

[Declude.JunkMail] Declude/smartermail problems

2006-04-13 Thread scott_powner

We have been periodically experiencing problems with
Smartermail not sending any mail or sending mail to different people than you
may have intended. Smartermail has looked at our configuration numerous
times and never found anything. Yesterday afternoon after a particularly
bad day we called again. Smartermail told us that Declude was set up
incorrectly.

We are using Declude 3 and Smartermail 3 both Pro
versions. We have about 8,000 users spread across 20 different
domains.

Smartermail told us to remove the c:\smartermail\declude.exe
%filepath statement from the configuration (they had told us to put it there in
the first place). We removed it and mail was no longer being checked by Declude.
We then enabled it under the antispam settings. Mail was no longer
processed.

We called Declude. They had us send them a copy of our
Global.cfg and $default$.junkmail as well as a log file. They said it
would be a few days.

Does anyone out there have any idea what could be the
problem or at least a direction we could try.

Thanks!

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude/smartermail problems

2006-04-13 Thread scott_powner
That's what we tried but nothing gets blocked with it configured that way.
The Declproc never seems to correctly do it's thing. Nothing is in the
headers of the record. It's just as if it is not running.

Maybe I should re-rename the declproc.smartermail and try again.
Thanks

SmarterMail3 / Declude integration is very different than before. Here
is how we have things setup:

1) SmarterMail General Settings - Spool options: No command line
process specificed

2) SmarterMail Anti-Spam - Spam Checks: Decluded enabled for
filtering. Edit the weights to reflect your standard subject, hold,
delete weights

3) SmarterMail Anti-Spam - Filtering: Configure the appropriate
actions based upon your weights.

4) SmarterMail Anti-Spam - Options: We have 'allow domains to override
filter weights and actions' enabled

Now, in your Declude $default$.junkmail set your WEIGHT tests to WARN.
Declude will pass the weight to SmarterMail, and SmarterMail will filter
according to the actions you set in step 3.

Thanks!

[Declude.JunkMail] FW: Not scanning junk mail - smartermail

2005-08-16 Thread scott_powner
I have occasional junk mail not being scanned by Declude we are running
Declude 2.0.6 PRO. We run Smartermail. The Declude header for the e-mail
is being put into the body. I check through the archives and found several
references. Based on their best recommendation I copied the original 2.0.6
GLOBAL.CFG and $default$.junkmail. I only made minor changes to them. The
problem still occurred.

We run multiple domains and each domain has their own $default$.junkmail.
We also use Declude Antivirus with TrendMicro. The only e-mails that seem
to be getting through are from Yahoo.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Scott Powner

[Declude.JunkMail] Imail crashes after declude 2.0.6

Title: Message

Last Friday I finally upgraded from
1.81 to 2.0.6. We use Declude Pro
Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus. On Friday
after the install Imail web messaging crashed several times. We let the problem go until Monday. On Monday the problems got worse with
numerous crashes of web messaging.
I finally recopied 1.81 and have been crash free
for 2 hours. What is going on with
2.0.6? Do I need to reconfigure
something? Win2003 on a xeon
processor with 2gb memory.

Haven't seen any crash
since removing SP1 but this is not 100% sure at the moment.I will report
it later this week.

Sorry about not getting back to anyone
some malcontent set up a winmx server in my network!  Anyway the bottom line right now is:

    Declude
1.81 -   No problems for about a million years

    Declude
2.0.6        -   Imail crashes for two days

    Reinstalled
Declude 1.81        -   No
crashes for 1 day

    Installed
SP1 with Declude 1.81  -   No crashes for ½ day but it seems to
run slower

Any thoughts we are going to let
SP1 run through the night.  If it still
seems slow to access mail we will remove SP1 in the A.M.

Thanks,

Scott Powner

Nothing about the service
that SP1 installs, but I did I find multiple pages on Microsoft's site about
Application and User Experience, which seems to be their quality
and regresssion testing. They indicate that 3rd party vendors should
follow:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/appcompatibility/default.mspx

and

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/partners/isvs/appsupp.mspx

this application testing
in order to verify that their applications work correctly with their OS.
There is also a page that lists 120-plus applications that this
Application and User Experience team tested with Windows Server
2003 SP1, and produced results (including their own software):

I don't know if this is
of any help here, but two new SP1 features that I don't understand and I fear
to some extent are the Application Experience Lookup Service and
Data Execution Prevention (DEP). It seems like both might
represent overhead to things like Declude which are called from a command line
along with all of the applications that it calls, and it might not be wise to
run them in such an environment. I haven't tried turning them off yet,
but I was just starting the process of researching them. The
Application Experience Lookup Service can be turned off in
Services, and Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is controlled by the
boot.ini. I can't find hardly any information on the Application
Experience Lookup Service, but Data Execution Prevention
(DEP) has a KB article about it:

 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352

There is also another level of DCOM security, and this may or may not cause
issues with .NET stuff. I don't know.

I haven't tried upping from Declude 1.82 yet as I wanted to apply SP1 and make
sure that it was workable before introducing something else that was new to the
environment.
